Good day guys, very good community here :)

I'm planning to upgrade from scratch my main workstation from LTSC 2019 (KMS Activated, i cannot remember wich method i used years ago...) to LTSC 2021 IOT on a new NVME SDD.
I think if i understood correctly because it is binary equivalent, I'll go with IOT In order to preserve the 10 years extended support.

I care about privacy on my devices and because i cannot jump to full Linux for work related reasons, i'm gonna activate it with the offline KMS38 method from massgravel script. In 2038 probably my hardware will be in the trash can anyway.

I'm open to suggestions from you guys, surely more expert than me.
    Thanks in advance :D

If I remember correctly, IOT will not activate with KMS. You may want to explore the HWID option.

But i don't want to use an activation method that sends to Microsoft stuff.
Now, what to do then? Install LTSC non IOT, activate it with KMS38 and change it to IOT?...

why do you want to use iot in the first place? just get the normal ltsc version and activate it with kms38. do you really use an OS for more then 5 years without a fresh install?

You are right, but i really like the "setup and forget" feeling that give me ten year of extended support like LTSC 2019.
    Probably i'm overacting.
    Keep it simple.

If you change a KMS or KMS38-activated Enterprise LTSC to the IoT SKU, you will lose KMS activation, as IoT does not support it.

Did anybody do a benchmark of 2021 vs. 2019?
I'm specifically interested in DPC latencies.

Newcomer here. I’m so confused right now, what is KMS38? Isn’t HWID better? I just want the latest Enterprise LTSC. Also what are these activation methods? Isn’t KMS38 one of those things detected as a virus or that keeps running in the background?

Also, where can I get an official, untouched ISO, the first page just has a bunch of random text.

My apologies for all the stupid questions, I m just so done with the usual Windows bloatware and nagging to use Edge.

KMS 3.8 lasts like 15 years instead of the old 180 days so you don't have to install an activator. You just run the activator once after installing.
You would use KMS activation for LTSC.
For IOT or a converted LTSC-to-IOT version, that's how you activate with hwid.

Detailed specifics on changing key and searching for activator here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...rprise-n-ltsc-2021.84509/page-84#post-1716699

Why do you now call it KMS 3.8? It's called KMS38 (initially we called it KMS19) because in 2019 it was created and the activation lasted 19 years, it's nothing like normal KMS activation, i've asked the original devs to write some factual info about it but that never happened.

From what i remember it was a side effect of one of the first tests with hwid based on kms activated systems, then you needed to kms activate the install and run the magical 10586 gatherosstate.exe to generate a genuineticket.xml and apply it all combined with keys extracted from a dll.

And from where can I get the IoT enterprise ltsc ISO? I just want to reinstall it and see if the HWID activation works.
