VLC needs evr.dll and Explorer needs 2(4?) IE html files to stop explorer opening new windows. Thats all of IE gone, Indexing and Search too, along with other telemetry packages mentioned here. Theres a ton of stuff i could remove actually.

 

I haven't seen one succes story on that matter, not here, not anywhere

hmm, myself disabled WMP and use VLC & Winamp without problems; simply as for videos VLC, for only audio Winamp both works like a charm using W10 EnterpriseS x64 Build 14393.2368

 

In 2016 LTSB , is the WDDM model 1.1 or is it 2.0

 

windows 10 v1607 has WDDM 2.1.

I love vlc, it doesnt bitch and complain, it plays everything. Hate wmp, love itoons even with all its bloat. If i could get foobar ui close to itunes 9 then i would be happy as a dyke in a dildo shop.

 

Try playing a 4k mp4 with VLC

 

Why bother when it plays vobs I'll stick tome vobs thank you very much

 

You stated it can play everything, it cannot

 

MPC-HC is much better than vlc due to its filters and madVR for upscaling.

And aimp is much better for music too.

But that's my opinion.

yes, I am running LTSB 2016 on a i5-8400/B360 system and everything is working fine, including the iGPU.

Amd Ryzen here too. Drivers are not the same as features as Microsoft does a fair job at hardware support. Anytime Microsoft has lacked in that department I could count on the manufacturer to provide drivers.
