    EVAL installs can't be activated in anyway, you need to install a normal version.

    That’s what I thought too. I guess I’ll just have to stick with vms or docker containers then. Thanks for the reply.

    Will / Did LTSC 2019 get the "Retpoline Kernel" that's supposed to come with 19H1?

    Yep thanks.
    I don't have LTSC installed at the moment (trying out 18362.1) so I can't check myself yet.
    Looks like it's a phased rollout with an option to manually enable in regedit.

    I installed
    SW_DVD5_WIN_ENT_LTSC_2019_64-bit_French_MLF_X21-96433.ISO
    with all my internet cable physically removed. Again at this point, all my applications are not restricted
    THen Iaunch offline update by WSUSoffline, which updates to february, and then without internet connection, my applications are restricted.
    SO I guess I cannot update....

    has the LTSC media been refreshed with the .379 CU like the standard consumer/business editions have?

    So I am an absolute noob with LTSC, first time using it. My laptop has a GTX 1060 card and no matter what I do, I cannot get neither Geforce Experience (generic error), nor manual driver installs (unsupported version, no GPU detected) working.

    I've tried:
    Reinstalling Experience;
    Using an older version of Exp.;
    Changing the service settings of Exp.
    Using DDU to uninstall then manually install a driver offline;
    Installing older drivers.

    Anything left to try? I will probably return to Pro if there's nothing I can do, as I'm only a consumer and using LTSC an experiment.

    Is that normal LTSC or the N version? In case the 1060 is a M version, make sure the driver supports those. No problems with my 1060 (2012/4200 MHz@1000mV) and LTSC with 419.67. No clue regarding Geforce Experience, i refuse to install that crap.

    It is the normal version. Yes, it was on the list (and I understand that the M versions of the 10 series don't have separate drivers, unlike earlier cards). I've managed to get an older version of the Experience working, but it still refuses to install it, even when I cut Windows Updates off. At least the default driver isn't being installed anymore...

    I can confirm that geforce experience works on LTSC, but it does require all of its crap to be present(installed) on the machine. Meaning you can't just chop-chop the useless(to you) bits of the driver package and expect GE to work.
    The one detail you need to take care of is that you should download the standard driver package and, after you've cleaned up via DDU, make sure you're not connected to teh internetz and you're not letting windows install its crap driver for your gpu.

    My Laptop has both the Intel UHD Graphics 630 and a GTX 1060 running on LTSC without issue. In fact my system works really well with all my games, actually impressed with it.

    On my laptop I don't have a bios setting to shut off Intel graphics. It has to be enabled and fully functional before the nVidia stuff will work right. If I try to disable Intel Graphics though the device manager I get "no device found" with the nvidia stuff. When I first got this machine I wanted to see if I could run on the nVidia 2D, I found it's not possible.

    I don't allow Windows to update drivers. I manually install my preferred video drivers, Intel version 25.20.100.6373 and nVidia version 417.71. Letting Windows automatically install drivers gives me trouble.

    When I install the nVidia graphics I run the driver installation package and make the custom selection without GeForce Experience. So I can't say if GeForce Experience works right on mine since I haven't tried it. In any case I would recommend against allowing nVidia drivers to update without scrutiny. A bad update is something that can be a real headache and it's not a rare thing.

    I have uninstalled the Windows-supplied drivers about 10 times now, offline, online, updates blocked through policies, but it still gives the same result. My Intel card is enabled, no problems there.

    Thank you for the replies, but I think I'll stick with regular Windows for now. Maybe someday LTSC won't be too much of a headache to set up!
