Yeah that's almost sure to me, just thought @rpo had said he sucessfully did so. One thing I could advice for people wishing to "switch" edition, going from Home/Pro/Enterprise to LTSC, is to delete "provisioned apps" before upgrading, to avoid leftovers in database (LTSC does not have all appx like home/pro/enterprise) This, if you care having a clean system. Go to "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\AppRepository" and delete all its content "AppData\Local\Packages" and delete all its content. With Trusted Installer rights (NSudo or alike, or my "Run Explorer as TI") This is to do just BEFORE license switch/trick and running ISO, so it will install only LTSC appx, and you won't have Home/Pro appx leftovers (and not removable with DISM++ or other tools) IMPORTANT NOTE: Needless to say that you should do a proper backup before this kind of task. Also note you have to do the registry trick just before loading Windows ISO, because the registry value resets itself after a few seconds or minutes. So be quick enough after the tweak.
Lic switcher will show unsupported edition, Running: Code: reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" /v EditionID /t REG_SZ /d "EnterpriseS" /f And next perform the inplace upgrade should work, but doesn't on 18362/3.
Of course since LTSC is 17763...for me Windows has never been "downgradable" without losing apps and settings...but thought @rpo had found a way to do so
The system from which i'm posting was first migrated from 1809 enterprise to 1903 enterprise (HWID activation). At this moments i changed my mind because i was searching statbility form my 9 years old pc and ltsc 2019 appeared to be the solution. I am now on ltsc 2019 and kept all my files and applications. The tool i used is @s1ave77' JATD up_down process. First the system was donwgraded from enterprise 1903 to 1809, and then migrated to ltsc. Each time the process generates a new iso which i used for an inplace installation. This process was time consuming and dirty, but successfull.
Which version was it that when you updated it, you would loose you files? Was it when updating v17763 to v17763.1 ? Also anyone know where I can find the original en-us v17763.1 64bit and 32bit ISO? I want to use it with the SVF files to convert it to LTSC. Thanks in advance!
There is no 17763, the first release of ltsc = 17763.1 https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...b-17763-xxx-pc-rs5.77945/page-51#post-1467631 17763.1: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-10-svf-repository.63324/page-128#post-1468363

hmm do not know what to do to "fix" the problem of file associations settings \ standards, Windows insists that there is no file / program that can replace the own M$FT many of them I managed to change by force the second I saw on Reddit a lot of angry users with the same problem and yet many of them attributed to the malfunctioning of the UWP applications do not know why they changed that always worked well...
yes i agree because since the beginning of the UWP applications in Windows 8 not only i but tons of members here did not like the UWP model so much it is true that the MSMG is as the biggest proof of this i am not competent enough to discuss but i am sure that there are really several limitations facing the Win32 applications...
What are the latest updates for LTSC 2019? I checked the 1809 updates overview but I think it's not current.
