basically you can buy such a key, but you need a real microsoft subscriber contract that include LTSC the key is only valid, as long as the contract runs (or is extended) BTW the contract > 2000 $/year EDIT: Since win10 keys and license two completely separate things
Microsoft could sell LTSC to consumers for $€300 like they did with win7 ultimate but I am under no illusion that a lot of people would buy it.
I'd like to add more to that, since it's much more complicated than what's already been said ._. There is only one way to acquire and properly license Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC - through Volume Licensing. Volume licensing offers three ways for an LTSC license to be bought - through Open License, Select Plus and Microsoft Product and Services Agreement. First off, let's eliminate Select Plus as it's no longer offered to new customers. Only public sector customers (governments, academic institutions) can keep the licenses bought this way as of now, the rest are being retired in favor of Microsoft commerce. (We're down to OL and MPSA now.) Let's being with Open License: Here's a list of who can acquire licenses through Open License agreements: Commercial businesses. Government organizations. Educational institutions. Qualifying 503(c)(3) institutions. Multinational organizations. The requirements for an Open License agreement are: Having a valid Volume Licensing agreement with Microsoft. (Not always) Acquiring at least 5 licenses. And now the second (and last) option, Microsoft Product and Services Agreement: Who it applies to: Commercial businesses. Government organizations. Academic organizations. Now the nail in the coffin that are the minimum requirements: Having a valid Volume Licensing agreement with Microsoft. Having at least 250 users or active devices. Purchasing at least 500 points / cloud services for at least 250 users within a single year from the start of the agreement. By now some of us will have acquired the LTSC license despite all of the above. How to properly apply the damn thing? First of all, there's something called a Qualifying OS, which is the operating system which needs to be licensed for our device of choice before LTSC is installed. The reason for this is that almost all per device licenses (such as our beloved LTSC) are upgrade-only, which means they cannot be installed on an unlicensed computer by themselves. In LTSC's case the qualifying OS is Windows 10 Enterprise. You need a valid and ongoing Windows 10 Enterprise license first and only then you may install LTSC and apply the given key. Now, maintaining the license is kind of a pain in the ass, because you may not update the LTSC installation if your Enterprise license expires; You need to constantly renew both licenses through your Volume Licensing agreement or have Enterprise as part of a subscription. I hope that clears up some things. If you have any questions - feel free to ask, I'll be happy to answer .-.
Hello to All, first thing thank you for all the work that you put on the forums, i spent hours browsing and navigating through literally mountains of info and at the end i should have an idea on how proceed with my plan. The plan is installing W10 2019 LTSC (1809) and that is the reason for writing here. I have still some questions however, I hope some of you can answer or give me a direction. 1) There are known Hardware incompatibilities linked to W10 2019 LTSC (N) (1809)? I will go on the road of AMD Ryzen 3000 Zen 2 and 570x platform and probably RX5700, so i would be nice to know if anyone has experienced difficulties (drivers, performance). 2) There are known Software incompatibilities linked to W10 2019 LTSC (N) (1809)? I am aware MS app store is cut (alleluia), however i would like to know if there are problems or limitations to third party FireW or Antivirus, registry/disk space cleaners, multimedia players (VLC), Directx. It will be a home/gaming pc, so GOG and steam, plus some quite old games could be installed. 3) Anyone has already tested "1usmus Custom Power Plan for Ryzen 3000 Zen 2 Processors" (see article on TechPowerup website, i can't post links) on W10 2019 LTSC (N) (1809)? If yes, what result you got? I have other questions (more for confirmation) related to the W10 2019 LTSC (1809) installation that i leave for later.
Heh, wouldn't install 2019 LTSC Enterprise 1809 64b, as it couldn't find a driver for media (DVD etc.) in my new laptop... Enterprise N is going, though... wish me luck...
Even when I download full media pack from MS it won't install (I'm now using Ent. N), stating there is no device for it in my machine... Weird, as another Win10 (Home and Pro version of some sort) install it all no problem... Laptop doesn't have a CD/DVD/BD player attached to it but that's idiotic, as we use USB, BT and so on devices for it nowadays...
I have en_windows_10_enterprise_ltsc_2019_x64_dvd_5795bb03.iso. Should I install this windows and the windows will update itself to the most updated version?
Why are you insisting on convoluting the situation? Just install the ISO you have and let WU update it.
