I don't expect anyone to listen to me, because I'm a noob, and pretty much not worth listening to anyways. To me, LTSC 2019 is just too buggy to use, (unless you just like wasting time). It just deleted my GTAV directory completely, (and yseterday it deleted a couple of my music albums, (I ignored that because I thought it must have been something I did ). None of the files/directorys matter much, because I have backups, of the music and GTAV is on Steam, so it just takes a little time to get it back (and saved games on their cloud). I just went back to LTSB 2016, never had any problems with it. I know that we should not use the MS beta, (wonderful software), for anything important on our main computer, but come on!
How can a clean install delete folders it doesn't even know they exist? How did you do the clean install?
It didn't delete anything on install, it even had a couple of updates that downloaded and installed, as I had it for a few days. Installed iso. from stick to clean SSD.
So... it basically deleted your folders out of the blue?! So it went to program files, steam, common, (etc) and deleted only gtaV install folder?
I can't explain it either and like I said, it was probably something I did, but not sure what really caused it, so went back to LTSB 2016. The folder was there yesterday, because I just played it for a few hours. I've got 32 games but only had GTAV on it.
Could someone with IvyBridge i5 3570K CPU check for the microcode version being used with LTSC 2019? - Located in registry: HKLM\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0 - Look for Update Revision entry and report the value. I want to check but i don't have a spare drive to install LTSC2019 to see it myself.
Wow that's fast reply, and yeah that's what i'm looking for thanks. And dam, it is the latest microcode with Spectre fix, looks like no escaping the slowdown even if i try to avoid using latest microcode in BIOS. -Edit- Well is not latest but still tempered with earlier Spectre fixes.
@GodHand: I just tried your script and it's awesome. I do think you made two tiny mistakes. First, the Win32Calc is not being skipped on LTSC. This was reported before. Line 2202: Code: If ($ImageName -notlike "*LTSC") If the imagename is "LTSC 2019", then this query becomes actually TRUE and because LTSC already has the Win32Calc included, the function will fail. The correct syntax should also include a wildcard AFTER LTSC, like this: Code: If ($ImageName -notlike "*LTSC*") Now the query returns FALSE and the integration will be skipped, as it should. Down the errorlogs I spotted another: Code: Cannot find path 'HKLM:\WIM_HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run' because it does not exist. I may be mistaken, but I think it should be looking for the DefaultUser hive. Current User hive does not yet exist as the image has not yet been deployed. Edit: I would also suggest that you remove "regionlanguage" string from the SettingsPageVisibility policy. It prevents adding or removing keyboards. Everything else was perfect, I hope you can make a x86 version someday. Cheers.
LTSC 2019 in same ways relate to 1809 and same to Server 2019 Should stabler then normal Semi-Annual Channel overall
not true, sorry. it's just as stable as 1607. got it installed since day 2 after they released the iso's the first time and there are NO PROBLEMS at all at my end. even tho i disabled defender and other (for my taste) useless stuff. well that cpu usage bug in the task manager is there, but that will make my system not instable...
