I upgraded from LTSB to LTSC on an older desktop with i5 CPU and 8 gigs of RAM. It's running perfectly and I haven't fixed anything. It even got the Adobe Flash update. Wasn't there some questions about that?
The only bad thing about LTSC 2019 is that it will most likely not get the Spectre/Meltdown performance fixes from 2019-H1 Windows10 update. Which is a real bummer for machines with Haswell and older CPUs, that are affected the most by this.
Hmm God help the users that are part of the group insiders besides NOT being heard as the logic determines not yet receive nothing in return, not even a GOOD operating system for its incessant safrifice and many many hours without sleep like myself; whether it is acquired by legal channels ($$$) or by other means ... is simply absurd with users of many years faithful to M$FT where is my dear BG who is not seeing this chaotic situation?
I like this and with a few after install tweaks I can make everything work to my liking. But can anyone explain why IE11 won't "go anywhere" unless starting it with elevated privileges or disabling "Protected Mode?" Or am I the only one with this issue?
Same issue here. This is a related tweak somewhere, I found a bunch of them and deleted them. Still not found that particular one. Nevertheless, the script is a good starting point and we will just have to take the parts needed and leave out the parts that are overkill. Cheers.
Yeah, I have that IE bug too. But I had the Chrome install .exe downloaded already so wasn't an issue for me.
Ya, every other browser is fine. And I rarely have the need for IE11 anyway, but there is something in the reg tweaks causing this that I'd like to understand. Another thing(s): The -DaRT switch does nothing. I'm pretty sure one would need to point that to a valid DaRT 10 image/files "somewhere," as it's not part of the ISO, AKAIK. From my (error free) rebuild (whatever Index), the only thing that changes is the install.wim. Nothing else. File dates and md5's concur. Something I'm missing? EDIT: "Brain fart" re: -DaRT answered by @Supern00b below - Thanks!
Dart files are in the resources folder. Did you download only the script or the whole zip file? You need the last one. For me Dart was integrated in recovery wim. What did not work for me was the store sideloading. But that's no biggie. Cheers.
Well that's a big "DOH!" on my part, thank you! Will apply to the image again a bit later, but I'm quite busy this weekend. Hopefully someone will figure out the IE11 issue or a workaround by then. Even a regedit or GP setting to allow it to run in Protected Mode as an ordinary user "post install," would be great.
They should backport it to all supported windows versions instead of holding it hostage to 19H1. Who really wants to rush to upgrade to their latest heap of garbage? Even if I weren't on LTSC, I would be on current branch targeted with a further delay to avoid any non-sense so there's that preventing me from using it.
IE mysteriously started working again for me, not sure why. I did all the services tweaks etc. but I dunno if that made a difference. IE working now be I re-enabled cbdhsvc,DevicesFlowUserSvc,WpnUserService and updated the services .cmd etc. with the changes.
Is it normal that extensions reset on their own in LTSC? If not, is there a fix? And, how do I install Windows 10 LTSC on a laptop that doesn't support UEFI?
