Maybe read the last posts . It's recommended to set the reg entries indirectly using Group Policies, that way they won't get easily reverted .
Was referring to the term 'bloated/debloat', although consuming space the so called bloat only has marginal impact on performance. Default Windows startup behavior after install is the actual issue and is nearly the same for any edition.
it's not all debloated. i've made some or several registry edits already that where necessary. better help ppl out rather than not to.
Was more referring to general system tweaks to silence telemetry, other phoning home and update settings. Custom reg tweaks are a matter of personal liking and differ quite much.
im not exactly sure, but it should be possible to install it. but will it start then without the store and some store/app related apps like .NET and vclibs?! i don't think so. but you can add the store to ltsc without problems and it will work just fine and so will onenote then.
I managed to resolve this. First, I made a new image. Due to a syntax error in the script, we have to replace all instances of "*LTSC" to "*LTSC*". Next, I did not use "registry-hardened" but instead "registry-default". After deployment, I removed some of the HKCU explorer cpl policies, among them the "internet options" policy. IE worked out of the box. Now, store integration also works perfectly. Cheers.
I made a comprehensive list of "optimizations" tweaks in this post here : https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/custom-policies-set.78129/#post-1475673 and another one for "personalizations" here : https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/custom-policies-set.78129/#post-1475677 Every tweak also has its "invert" tweak mirrored, in case you want to reverse it. I don't recommend to apply the main ones (the ones containing all tweaks) as it's my own list, and obviously a matter of taste for personalizations, while most optimizations depend on what for and how you will use your system. Its all started from a custom policy project, then came the idea to set more tweaks via gpo... Still in process...but decided to share the listed tweaks in between. Also shared my parsed policy list, for the settings you can do already via gpedit, which is always preferable and there is a lot. Agree, and what I just said somehow... However some tweaks (missing in gpo) are also intended to get rid of ads for example (And that's also why I separated the two between "optimize" and "customize").
Currently using Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB Is it worth to upgrade to 2019 ltsc, what are the main changes?
So far I very much like LTSCm I cleanly installed it 2 hours ago, then drivers, then applied common UI tweaks from DISM++, disabled Cortana, Defender, etc. There is A TON of background processses compared to LTSB, but CPU usage is lower than with the latest LTSB. Dark Explorer was a must-have for me!
Dark explorer is the most obvious change if you're interested but it's a half baked thing, you'll have to get used to its quirks. I get better write performance in AS SSD benchmark in 1809 v/s 1607 and I like the clipboard history feature (win+v). Onedrive has files on demand if you use it. I also like being able to throttle windows update. Other than these, I wouldn't miss 1809 if I had to go back to 1607. At least file associations work there.
