I don't, I just thought the name was cool. I have a laptop so no more than 1 CPU for me and I don't need ReFS so I'm installing Windows 10 Pro now. Lesson learned and I'm 170 USD richer
No I had Enterprise and ProWS with the license switch.... and not recognized on my server at the office all CPU! from home to ProWS Yes and insteadand resources are optimized better!
Nobody is talking about any licenseswitch, Real Enterprise SKU has all pro-ws features. Pro-WS is more like enterprise "lite".
You must have missed this: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...o-for-workstations.74909/page-36#post-1386800 Additionally Enterprise from ISO/ESD/UUP is feature complete, ProWork converted from mounted Core WIM is either.
Enterprise definitely does not have all the features of PfW. Nowhere close. If you actually used PfW on a system with hardware it's designed to optimize, you'd never make such an asinine comment. There's absolutely no comparison between PfW and Enterprise other than the latter also has ReFS for physical drives. Of course visually it's "the same" for anyone who installs it without having the hardware to utilize what it's designed for. PfW is all about the hardware, not the aesthetics. Only an absolute dolt would be interested in PfW simply because they can use ReFS. Derp.
I had installed the last release Windows Ent ISO... And it was not complete in the feature... to have complete the only way it was to go from Core to ProWS for now ...
ProfessionalWorkstation-ppdlic vs. Professional-ppdlic Code: Kernel-RegisteredProcessors 4 - 2 Kernel-WindowsMaxMemAllowedx64 6291456 - 2097152 SMBClient-AllowRdmaUsage 1 - 0 FileSystems-ReFs-Enabled 1 - 0 PersistentMemory-MaxTotalSize 2147483647 - 0 Enterprise-ppdlic already have those policies as PfW why wouldn't it have the features?
I tested "enterprise" Virtual machine was configured with 4 processors with 3 cores each processor (4 sockets, 12 virtual processors in Task Manager). I confirm that the 4 sockets are well recognized and that the updates work ... I think the "Enterprise" version is a better solution than "ProWS" currently ! Because I failed to update (Pro 1703) to (ProWS 1709) with a ProWS image created from "Core" with SMRT WIM EDITION SWITCHER ... while the update (Pro 1703) to (Enterprise 1709) worked ... Now I only have to test on a physical machine !
Yeah so i'm on 1709 pro-workstation, converted from home offline using s1ave77 script. And yeah unable to update. What I don't understand is why this SKU is not included in the CU update yet.
@Enthousiast and @s1ave77 Thank you for your help. I tried to create an image with DISM but sadly it didn't worked. I just got some undeletable folders. I guess W10 Enterprise is the best for dorks like myself at the moment.
1: install current windows 10 pro on virtual machine and install update from windows, 2: reboot 3: after install windows 10 pro workstation gvlk key and reboot you have windows 10 pro workstation 4: after create 3 folder in C:\Windows\System32\fr-FR\Licenses\ Volume , OEM , _Default on this folder create subfolder ProfessionalWorkstation like this : C:\Windows\System32\fr-FR\Licenses\OEM\ProfessionalWorkstation\license.rtf copy license.rtf from C:\Windows\System32\fr-FR\Licenses\OEM\Professional\license.rtf or C:\Windows\System32\fr-FR\Licenses\_Default\Professional\license.rtf and copy to C:\Windows\System32\fr-FR\Licenses\OEM\ProfessionalWorkstation\license.rtf C:\Windows\System32\fr-FR\Licenses\_Default\ProfessionalWorkstation\license.rtf C:\Windows\System32\fr-FR\Licenses\Volume\ProfessionalWorkstation\license.rtf after run sysprep choose audit mode without generalize ; shutdown option reboot delete user created with windows 10 pro install only administrator must show choose enter in oobe mode generalize must selected and shutdown option choose shutdown capture this image with gimagex (boot with a windows pe use gimagex sku flag must blank and capture ) copy install.wim to windows 10 pro iso edit or create ei.cfg and add this [EditionID] ProfessionalWorkstation [Channel] Retail [VL] 0 save iso and test to virtual machine update working only with this methode with wim-switcher update not workings replace fr-FR with your language like this : ex en-US C:\Windows\System32\en-US\Licenses\Volume\ProfessionalWorkstation\license.rtf
Updates probably work because it's not real Pro-WS like i showed here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...o-for-workstations.74909/page-37#post-1387012 https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...o-for-workstations.74909/page-37#post-1387034
