Zero issues at all with Defender after in-place upgrading both my production 22000.xxx builds on work/personal laptops.

 

could you attach screenshot of Windows Defender app please? I was testing upgrade from 22000 en-US build this month in VM with or without TPM and it's always broken at the end

@Enthousiast could you please test in-place upgrade from actual 22000 build (maybe 22000.778?) to any 22621 build?
In VM or on hardware, with ISO or WU, it doesn't matter, Defender app is always broken for me on en-US and ru-RU 22621 builds after upgrade from 22000

I just want to be sure I'm not crazy

steps to reproduce this:
1. install latest 22000 build, fully update it by WU (update Defender as well)
2. do in-place upgrade to any 22621 build
3. open Defender app -> "App & browser control" is missing and "Device security" says "Standard hardware security not supported"

edit:
I just did in-place upgrade from 22000.778 build to 22621.105 again and Windows Defender is working correctly...
I don't know what to think now, perhaps Defender got some fixes and in-place upgrade from 22000 don't break it anymore

I've edited my post, upgrade from 22000 is no longer breaks Windows Defender somehow.. no idea why, I'm shocked actually

I guess I can safely upgrade my main PC to 22621 now

Windows Defender is working properly, I swear it wasn't two weeks ago..

maybe that was the root of the issue, idk

 

22621.169 has showed up on UUP

 

I'm all for them taking time or whatever with updates, but my lord with the lack of changelogs!

 

Wonder if a beta build that is higher will appear in the wild.

YES. But my question is, isn't a new version coming out for the beta channel?

Is it worth installing it if I'm in the beta channel and I have the 160?
