Can any one find a way to install JDK on the spring update? I did not have JDK installed prior to the update as I did a clean install of Win 8.1 x64(ditching Win 7 hopefully) and applied all the updates. Now when I try to install it says "This app can not run on this pc. To find a version for your PC contact the software publisher." I tried making it compatible with Win 8, but no luck. Thought about trying Win 7 comparability but wasn't sure if that was a good route to go given that Java is more of a library then a game or an app.
But about WZT ARM leaked, we need to be caution when we try install it into Surface RT? Wi-Fi still issues because we need newer driver/firmware for Update 1 not?
thanks bro what's the easiest way to integrate these updates into my Windows 8.1 single Language USB Flash DISK ? I remember there was a little program here on MDL that did all the hard work but I forgot where I Saw it
I have a 5 year old Acer Aspire One netbook that I have the new update running on. When I first installed Win 8on the netbook, Metro apps wouldn't open due to the limited resolution (1024x600) of the netbook. It was necessary to go into the registry to find the key "display1_DownscalingSupported" and change it from 0 to 1. Once I did that and rebooted, I was then able to change the netbook's resolution to 1024x768 which was high enough to support Metro apps.
17031 is RTM, it's just a matter of translation, or how he put his words. I couldn't remember of the "same game" because Leblanc had officially announced win8.1 RTM a week afterwards, it was Tel-something who insisted 9600.16384 was not RTM final, and he is not Chinese.
The problems people are having here are likely related to not having specific updates installed. I think, if anything, MS will likely identify the upgrade problems and require that people who update their systems have certain pre-requisite updates installed and rebooted. You know how in 8.0 it wouldn't list the big rollups in Windows Update until you updated some smaller fixes? I figure it will probably be the same for this big one.
Well, it's not really a fail by them, they're still working on updated drivers, they'll be ready once the update is officially available. I heard wifi breaks after KB2919355, but gets fixed in one of the later updates...
