I solved it but not through Regedit but Local Group Policy Editor instead Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Power Management -> Energy Saver Settings -> Energy Saver Battery Threshold (on battery) -> Enabled (and value set to 20) Another thing I find odd is that Server wants to make updates even though I have paused them for 35 days, I mean come on and leave me alone already.
The correct BT driver installation is the starting problem. I used the recommended driver for my USB dongle (no success) and also tried the general drivers from Intel, HP and Lenovo. The Intel driver was finally the only one which allowed a resemblance of pairing which ultimately never succeeded (Intel stack error). Thereafter, I followed all suggestions made in this thread but a week later still no progress. Pairing devices: Broadcom USB dongle for BT version 4.0 and Sennheiser headset PXC 550-II
Yeah, consumer devices drivers are the biggest issue when using Server 2022 as a workstation OS. Not having them bundled with the OS is one thing, but it doesn't even download them from Windows Update, even though I was able to download the driver for USB-connected Xbox controller from Microsoft Catalog, so the driver is there. Either way, if you have already tried all of the solutions in this thread then perhaps Server 2022 is just not a suitable option for you. Have you checked Windows 10 LTSC 2021 instead? It's a Windows 10 21H2, but without the Store or all the modern apps (even Calculator is the old Win32 version), but you can add Store back and install all the apps and games, if you want. It also comes with all usual driver and device support. You can find more details on it here.
Binisoft Windows Firewall Control is now Malwarebytes WFC, it's a simple yet effective front end to Windows' own firewall. Popup window notification with ability to create a permanent Windows Firewall rule. Excellent software but no ability to edit multiple rules at once, changing unlimited remote address rules to LocalSubnet or similar gets tiring.
Actually no drivers is better as we can install better optimized drivers ourselves. Use snappy driver installer.
On their website, it seems to be limited at server 2012/2016, no mention on 2019 or 2022. Have you tried it?
For now I have all my required drivers installed, perhaps I will give it a try next time, thanks. But are you sure it supports drivers for Server systems? The only mention of Windows Server I was able to find there is in the changelog and referrs to a fix applied in 2014 for Windows Server 2003.
It's only a front end to manage Windows Firewall, works in any version of Windows with WF, probably everything from XP upwards.
Alternatively, you can reboot and press F8 (yes, it still works on Windows Server 2022, since it still uses the Vista/7 boot menu) and select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" option
Yes, this will work too, but I find it a bit less reliable, as you need to press it at the right moment and in case of laptops you might have to press Fn+F8 (although I assume people following this guide will know how to get F8 pressed on their laptops).
I am having blurry font using 200% scaling settings of Windows display (not the one from virtual box). The normal fix of win8dpiscaling or dpiscalingver etc regedit hack doesn't work.
Yes I tried that already. It doesn't change anything. BTW I only have one screen. Yesterday I figured out two things can work, but both require configuring applications ONE BY ONE: 1. Use the compatibility tab of the property of the exe file, "Change high DPI settings", then choose either "Application" or "System (enhanced)" both works. The default I think is the middle "System" which is garbage. 2. Or use the GPO nearby called "Turn on GdiDPIScaling for applications", which I think is the same as "System (enhanced)", then it works. But still, you need to list EVERY exe files that have this problem.
Yes, it works fine on 2022. Very pleased with WFC. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better than the almost unusable Windows Firewall settings. For drivers I use Driver Fusion, which is detecting WS2022 properly and takes just a couple of clicks to install what I want.
