It's easy to make a backup of your bios using dos tools but is it possible to dump a bios with the settings you normaly use so that I can flash back to this version so that the settings will be the same as you had when you made the backup ?

Some bios allow to save user profiles. AFAIK they will persist after a bios upgrade!

Usually the current settings are loaded into CMOS. (e.g. load setup defaults, save changes)

The setup defaults is a preconfigured setting, optimized defaults as well!

HwDirect is a program to read / write CMOS!

The problem could be: You save your CMOS setting, after that you upgrade your bios. Then finally you write back the CMOS setting.

Result: No boot, reason: The upgraded bios reads the settings in a different way! Same problem may occur with saved profiles!
