1 trash metro-ui 2 trash windows defender--it's the worst spyware/malware/virus protection ever and it creates useless notifications, no one uses it, no one needs it 3 full backwards compatibility, or 95, 98, 2000, ME, XP modes for every edition of 8 as in built in virtual machines and not virtual PC garbage as an extra download 4 let users choose everything they want to be installed with the system--no more install it anyway practices such as internet explorer, windows media player, windows mail, windows media center, all programs under accessories, games, etc. etc. no one wants all M$ garbage all the time, let us choose what gets installed, or have the ability to completely remove it, not hide it somewhere, but completely delete it or uninstall it 5 driver compatibility for older machines, driver virtualization (think someone else mentioned this) 6 scrap internet explorer altogether, focus on the OS, we will find a browser 7 remove action center completely 8 remove UAC completely 9 remove folder location and links redundancy--quit using unneeded space ie. appdata, programdata, etc. etc. 10 one click service adujustments, ie. no more having to click to open the dialogue, click to choose an action, etc. etc. have it where it shows the service and the main options for it on one line where it can be chosen to stop, start, disable, automatic, delayed start, etc. all with one click on one line viewable all the time in the services ui 11 update sysinternals programs and have them included with windows out of the box, still being able to chosen whether one wants them installed or not instead of having to download them later 12 aero support even on cards that don't support it natively 13 allocate svchost.exe memory usage better, ie. have the ability to see and tweak each individual service under each svchost.exe process in a better task manager instead of having to open mmc and do it the long way
Please remove windows 3.x, 9x icons and 16bit, 9x application support on windows 8 ! i'm using windows 7 now and windows 3.x, 9x icons and 16bit, 9x applications are still usable! On these days they are only TRASH! They only take my disk space! REMOVE THEM! PLEASE! Good ideas
Very nice post jayblok. One thing I hate about Refresh is it only keeps the apps that have been installed from Windows Store. I want all my apps/softwares to be kept.
