Downloading Windows 10 Preview now. I wonder if they fixed automatic/manual maintenance bug, which was defragmenting SSDs instead of Trimming them. If not, then the more people feedback it to MS, the higher possibility that they fix it. This bug is really killing the battery of my tablet and shortens SSD lifespan.
Ok, time to destroy the Cortana illusion. Guys, the app is there and it's actually working. But just not the way you expect it. Right now, Cortana only seems to represent the search UI: If you search for "notepad", you'll get this window presenting you with the results. Now, if you check task manager, you'll find that the process that runs it is called "searchui.exe", which lives in the Cortana app package under Program Files/WindowsApps. According to the AppxManifest, searchui.exe is the entry point for that app. Voilà. This seems to be Cortana, for now. EDIT: What I mean is, there seems to be no way to get access to the speech stuff.
And even if the speech stuff we're in there it wouldn't work unless Microsoft flips the switch on the servers that power Cortana. (there are most likely different servers for Windows and Windows Phone)
Hyper-V offers a very nice (new?) feature: Enhanced Session or is available only on Windows8+ ?? Never saw that before:
From now on, all notifications pops up in the top right corner. Even ones like "you can now safely remove USB".
Yea, I kinda liked that, It even showed that my torrent download has finished, pretty neat. Can someone already enable Cortana ? Lol, I knew she would be there, just disabled since she is early code/wip. but I'm still curious, if she was so smart she would fix herself up (lmfao)
In Windows 10, The NetFx3 required files from Setup DVD sxs folder is different from windows 8.1, there is only a single file called microsoft-windows-netfx3-ondemand-package.cab in the folder. if I try to integrate it manually through dism /online /addpackage /packagepath:microsoft-windows-netfx3-ondemand-package.cab it works and shows the progress of integration but at the end it fails.
The Asphalt 8 Airborne seems to work better. There is no usual lagging as I used to experienced in Windows 8.1 and having it on desktop with my system-tray items below is something I like. The desktop experience helps me to view things on my browsers without having to leave the desktop environment or use the Windows key.
Not following. What are you referring to? For me, "from now on" (that is once you have installed W10), notifications are in the lower right.
That's where they were for me in Win8, but no longer here in Win10. Where were they for you in Win8? Edit: Oh, I see that you're talking about a certain classification of notices, like USB ones. Yes, OK, that's different. But all the notifications I've seen so far (haven't done USB) are in the lower right. Do you get any there?
