    Hello,

i have a problem modding a Fujitsu Siemens Systemboard (D2156-A1) Bios.

There is no rom or wph file. There are only
    Code:
    BupInfo.xml
    C2156_A1.OMF
    CHANGES.TXT
    D2156_A1.OCF
    M2156_A1.OMF
    P6_INTEL.P4
    P6_INTEL.TXT
That Files can be flashed with bioflash.exe. The program has a dump option, but it don't dump a rom file. peb can not use any of the above files.

So i looked for compiler, but no luck. So i thought extracting the Bios Chip could be a solution, but it doesn't work.

With hwdirect i can dump the address fff00000 with a lenght 1000000, but if i mark the range and copy it, the program hangs. I've tried uniflash, but it also doesn't work. The Bios is a 4 MBit 26df041 Chip. Uniflash doensn't recognise this chip, so i selected another 4 mbit chip, because for reading only, it should not matter, but the extracted file was incomplete (says phoenix bios editor).

The i tried dos debug, but i am not familiar with that program, so i dont know how to use it really. Maybe someone can help me with that program or may have another idea, how to extract the rom from the bios chip?

    Thanks
    Obelix

I am a step further. I messed up with the file length. Now i am able to Dump from FFF80000h 80000h with hwdirect. So i get a 512 kb File, which i can open in PBE.

But PBE tells, that the File ended unexpectedly. But, where is the rest? The Bioschip is 4 Mbit (26df041), so there could not be more then 524288 Bytes. Can somone help me dump my bios correctly? Or, where is the rest?

    Recoverd Files:
    Code:
ROM.LOG - Generated by BIOS Editor

    BIOS.ROM 524288 Bytes (Bank Layout = 512KB x 1)

    MODULE NAME C I B START END SIZE LINK1 LINK2

The winphlash dump of the Bios can be partly decoded/opened with PBE 2.0.18 or phoenixdeco.

But the Logos and the OPROM's (Video, Network) are missing. I wonder what FSC messed up with this bios.

This I never saw before! How do you flash the bios? Can you send me a complete flash archive? Try to dump 100000h size with hwdirect, compare to the files and try to figure how to merge them.....

With DeskFlash, you can update and archive the BIOS from within Windows

It is some weired BIOS that contains 4 separate parts

Sebus, Freestyler and Obelix etc. I believe that the Fujitsu Siemens (FSC) Dxxxx motherboard Bios is moddable. I've managed to source a SLIC 2.1 modded Bios for the Esprimo P5916 (D2314-A3). Unfortunately I cannot test it as I have only D2584-A1 and D2331 motherboards. But as far as I can tell at the moment only the D2314-A3.OCF file has been modded. I need to look into it more and compare it against an unmodded. Let me know if you are still interested and I can upload it somewhere for you to look at it for yourselves.

Thanks, sadly kukubau has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.
