lol, nope. Device Manufacturer. It was defined when OA3 was yet in project to distinguish activation used by manufacturers of complete devices from generic OEM:NONSLP.
Wow!! Took the word from my mouth.. it is also defined in the OA 3.0 whitepaper & some Windows Embedded editions' activation cases, isn't it??
How embarrassing... I just saw from the RW utility that on the MSDM tab (at the top) it says MS Digital Marker Table and thought it must be that
How come with all the many Windows 8 ISO's available there isn't a Core Single Language available to download like the kind that OEM's sometimes use in their machines? I would have thought someone would have sniffed one of these ISO's out for download?
Hi everyone, I've used the coresinglelanguage iso (xdelta from en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso) to install Win 8 over the pre-installed oem in my laptop. At first due to the eci.cfg inside that iso, it shows the selection, I choose Win8 CoreSingleLanguage x64, but when all installation done (went into Desktop), it failed to activate my key: i(dot)imgur(dot)com/FvjrVx9.jpg i(dot)imgur(dot)com/ElNCLa4.jpg Then I tried remove the ei.cfg and reinstall to let it detect automatically, however this time it failed before go to partition page, stating incorrect key or something like no suitable version. RW-Everything shows that my key is OEM-DM, CoreSingleLanguage though. Hope someone can give some clue to this. Thanks!
Thank you very much! It found out I tried this using non-administrator cmd, and caused error. Now it's all fine now. Input the command, restart PC, activate the key via Internet. Smooth as butter. Thanks alot!
Dumb question but......I followed all of the instructions and I'm lucky enough to have just "Core." I'm having trouble finding an ISO of the 64 bit version that I need. I think this SHA1: 1CE53AD5F60419CF04A715CF3233F247E48BEEC4 is what I need. I don't have a MSDN or TechNet subscription. If anybody could point me to a link, I would greatly appreciate it. Maybe I'm just overlooking it. Thanks!
why not just insert the core edition product key of windows 8 upon installation of a windows 8 msdn retail iso from the Internet?
Yeah and that is not the right name for it, the RW utility uses a wrong.. According to the ACPI specifications ver. 5.0, page 112 the official name of the MSDM ACPI table is Microsoft Data Management Table...lol.
