That processor does use speed step and it's possible that if your laptop is running hot, the cpu would be running at a much lower speed than meets the requirement to run 10 Running HWMonitor to check your processor could help determine that
You need first to install KB2976978 for W8.1 / KB2952664 for W7 then run the task, or the new direct command: Code: %windir%\system32\CompatTelRunner.exe
I still can't create report Code: C:\Windows\system32>CompatTelRunner.exe Error: CDriver::Initialize, 147: GetFileProperties failed for [%systemroot%\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs] with 0x80070003 Warning: CDriver::Initialize, 147: GetFileProperties failed for [%systemroot%\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs] with 0x80070003 Info: CDriver::Initialize, 147: GetFileProperties failed for [%systemroot%\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs] with 0x80070003
When the GWX app first appeared on my Win 7 laptop, it reported the Intel video would not work because the chipset was not compatible. Later, the app reported that my laptop was compatible. I assumed that new drivers had been written for my system so I installed the latest consumer preview of Win 10. The video worked but I had no keyboard or touchpad. Plugging in a USB keyboard and mouse worked. I am waiting for RTM to see if it will actually work or not.
I am using win 7 x64. There is no such file present in the folder that is specified instead there is a folder by the name CompactTel. But in that folder too there is no file by this name No i havent made any changes to BIOS. I havent even entered BIOS for a long long time.
I have reinstalled the update and after that i got the necessary file. When i ran that with the command you have mentioned earlier it showed me same error that is reported in #23. Now when i am trying to open GWX app it shows please wait and then closes itself within seconds.
Faikee says that 7/8.1 upgrades can only be done thru GWX. M$ says that i can join insider, then opt-out when it hits the final build. I'm rolled back to 7 but it has been really hard to adjust, i take me ages to figure things out hahaha the lack of , the win+printscreen. And the tiles. I'd never thought i would miss the News and Weather tiles so much, and i can't get used to the gadgtes for desktop. Kill Me Now and bring me back as a zombie on the 29th
GWX also does not work for me any more. A few months ago when the Get Windows 10 icon started appearing on Windows 7 & 8.1 machines I decided to check for myself and sure enough after installing 7 I got the upgrade notice almost instantly after installing 7 and updating it. I then went back to Windows 10, clean installing, and didn't think anything more of it as I am an Insider and decided I would stick with 10 until the RTM, and then go back to 7 and follow through with weeks to spare. Today I went back to 7 finally so I could reserve my copy, did all the updates and NOTHING I do gets the Get Win10 icon to come back, like it did before. GWX is there, the KB's in question are installed, but it doesn't do anything. Its almost as if my computer no longer qualifies for the upgrade, or the initial offer becomes voided if you don't accept it immediately. Unless it can sometimes take days for it to work? I'm at a loss as to what to do now. I'm running genuine Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 fully updated on a Hexa-Core Intel Xeon and 12gb of DDR3, so I know my machine is not too old. Any ideas anyone?
My GWX seemed to have stopped working on my desktop. The box now just pops up "Please Wait" then flashes away. Started about a day ago. I saw someone else here had the same problem, initially I thought it was temporary.
