help, how can i backup my bios using the phlash16 command? thanks

    my notebook is acer 4741g-332g32mn
    model:ms2306
    i want to backup the bios first, then give it to expert, if he can modify it, add the slic , then i flash it into my notebook.

    1. First see if Acer has a BIOS update already. If so, post the link...(less work for others).
    2. Otherwise see if the regular phlash16.exe (latest v1.7.0.0 is probably preferable) can backup the BIOS using the /RO option. If you don't get an error, then it should create a BIOS.BAK or something similar that is a little larger than the exact BIOS flash chip size (even power of 2). The extra data is the platform data that is required to flash back the backup file.

    yes, i use the command : a:\phlash16 /ro

    then , it gave me a error messge: "unable to open bios.wph"

    then ,reboot.

    i don't know why, maybe it's a error command.
    i only would like to backup it.
