Help to unpack ACER NOTEBOOK BIOS

    Some of this bioses have a invalid length!
    Solution: Open bios with hexeditor. COPY exactly the first 512 kbyte (or 1024 kbyte) and paste it into a new file. Save it as *.ROM.
    Now you're able to edit it with PBE.
    After that copy and paste the modified file back to its original position at start address 00000000 of original bios file and save it. Make sure you don't change its size. Now you can flash it.

    I'll try it!

    Edit: all ok I create a file from 0h to 80000h and i open it using PBE.
    I edit it and i append the rest of file that i have cut.
    thank you so much.

    Into PBE temp dir i add acpi2.rom, i edit rom.scr and i modify RSTD label...i hope it's all OK ;)

    hi,

    huh i have also acer but EX5220 linux sku, after add ahci8.rom also i add it to rom.scr, all was ok but RSTD and XSDT was exits in BIOSCOD1.ROM and its correct, i dont have to modify it. after reflash under DOS NB wake up and working fine but still OS is unactive.

    Any idea, did i skip someting ?
