Whats the current status on activation? I did a clean install using the key that's floating around. I then used the other key to install media center. I have my own upgrade key of media center but it wont accept the key and activate.

I have gone through this thread and many others a good part of the day yesterday gave me a serious migraine, and I have not found a satisfactory answers. My situation: Windows 8 Pro x 64 (not OEM, licensing PUL) + WMC (free licence) so everything is perfectly legal (two legit keys) Usually, I do from scratch installations, but then I have no desire and exceptionally, I would prefer to update. 1st question: if I do the update to 8.1, what key should I enter? That of WMC? 2nd question: but I think I have the answer, Windows will be activated yet? If it is not more active, it is required to go through the phone activation? 3rd question: I would add that I have Office 2013 Pro Plus activated with MS Toolkit, I understand that it could be a problem. What is? Another thing, I wanted to activate with KMS Server Service Config v6.1 installation on virtual machine (RTM from Preview without WMC) I tried many keys (Pastebin), deleting them every time, impossible Thanks and sorry for my very bad English.
Oh yeah...wish i didn´t mention my script tool . I only did it as i use it on my VMs, it´s easier than entering all manual to CMD each time . This tool cannot activate anything atm! In case one does it, it will check the key online, so he will need luck the key is not blocked . Regards
Didn´t bother with upgrades so far . No need to enter key when upgrade from within the old system. In case Win is unactivated after that, you´ll need to check the actual used key, in case it´s the default key reenter your WMC Key. If it doesn´t activate online do a call. Office should remain activated from what i heard.
If you back-up your activation-files of Windows-8.1-Pro-WMC-RTM, is the Office-365-Subscription-Activation part of this back-up ?
Say that Windows 8 has a tendency to me... how to say... I prefer not to say... . 8.1 solves a lot of disadvantages I always do image disk anyway, we'll see. In the worst cases, I restore. The trick, you see, that it is I myself put 4-legged to disconnect all my other drives to not create multiboot, and I won't do it for nothing Many thanks.
It's at the end Office 2013 and I subscribed via my M$-Account, which I use as Online-Profile as well. I didn't get a key and the Installation is online / via stream only. I only went for it, because I didn't want to go back to an older Office-Version and it's quite affordable for 12 Bucks per month (5 Computer's + 5 mobile Devices).
I used one of the Retail keys from THAT famous Pastebin page and phone activated my copy of Windows 8.1 Pro. I wanted to check a few things, so I uninstalled my Windows 8.1 Pro completely by formatting my entire PC. Upon fresh installing Windows 8.1 Pro, I entered that same key which I used earlier and to my surprise, it activated instantly! Does this mean that the key is tied to my machine now and no matter how many times I install-uninstall Windows 8.1 Pro on my PC, that key will activate always? Note: When that same key is used to activate another copy of Windows 8.1 Pro on another machine, it gives an error message that the key has been blocked my Microsoft because it exceeded a certain number of activations.
