How to: Make a Windows 10 "1703 LTSB" ISO

Question damianfox.....

I ran the toolkit as you advised burned the modified iso file to a blank DVD and I also made a Bootable USB stick with this modified iso windows 10 my concern is when I tried to run the setup within the directory nothing happens except a pop up stating a missing dll bla bla bla Is there a work around I like to do an upgrade not a full complete clean install is that at all possible using the toolkit and information??

Or perhaps that's not an option and you / we need to always do a fresh install with this modified iso windows 10???

Can you ask one of your people in your contact list how is that possible to inject the missing update files or file into an all ready modified iso using your design and modified iso windows 10 that I modified...

I enjoy having that option to update and I agree with you clean fresh windows 10 on a formatted hard drive is the best and safest way to go " but you get lazy and installing office and other apps and configuring everything takes hours and some times a day o two " I get real tired o doing all that after all these years...

its not as simply unzip the modified windows 10 iso to a new folder and throw the "KB3124260" is a specific place and then re-compress everything with in the new folder into a original format as iso ???

Apply the cab with dism to offline wim?

 

Though the ToolKit's Integrate WHD Updates will update the updates listed in the WHD Updates repo, the ToolKit also updates some Dynamic packages like KB3116906 when the respective packages is placed in the same place where the WHD Updates are copied.

The KB3116906 will update the Windows Setup Boot (Boot.wim) and Windows Recovery Images (WinRE.wim) components.

After Integrating WHD General Updates, you need to select "Update Windows Setup DVD Media" from Integrate WHD Updates Menu to update the Windows Setup DVD Media to make Fully updated Windows 10 Installation Media.

This will udpate all the Windows Setup DVD Media files with the latest one present inside the Boot.wim, install.wim and winre.wim and it's same as using the update package KB3124260.

If you choose Remove Windows Manual Setup Feature from Remove Components then this will remove the upgrade feature from the DVD.

 

Yes simple to do it, just extract the iso to the ToolKit's dvd folder and then use 7-zip to open the KB3124260 file and extract the contents to the ToolKit's <DVD\sources> folder and overwrite the files when asked.

Then choose to make the iso from the ToolKit or copy the DVD folder contents to Bootable USB drive.

 

Oke followed the steps with Windows 10 Pro edition th2 and now gonne do an Upgrade with created iso Let's see how that is gonne work out

Question tho how do I get windows defender back or get rid of the anoying popups of turn on an antivirus ? NVM that was easy control pannel and turn of messages

 

I have already answered about the component removal in the ToolKit thread that even after removing the components using the original DISM method, still some files and registry setting will be left out which need to be removed manually and I haven't added functionality to the ToolKit yet.

If you need to disable those anoying popups then you can use these reg tweaks

Applying through control panel is what the registry settings do and there's no need to agin run the reg tweaks if you had used the control panel way.

Just posted the registry method, incase if you want to automate the process after the first boot using setupcomplete.cmd method.
