This ensures Mondo-license is inserted (which is required for KMS activation). No other features and/or changes were added. Download-links and checksums in OP were updated.
It's not, i removed the banners at my father's computer on Office 2019 with the cmd method, to change the update channel with cmd commands ( like the instructions say for O365) without re/uninstalling, and the banners disappeared.
Just tried a few different processes and still get the pirate license nag I have read that some are lucky (at least, for a time) and some (like me aren't. I'll have to do a deeper dive to see if can sort this out. The one concern is how long before the app is crippled or completely disabled. Thanks and cheers....
Find out the status of what is installed, -1 In an Administrator's CMD run: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16>cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus 2- Uninstall all unnecessary MS Office licenses found in (1) the dstatus report, Run: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16>cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:xxxxx Check in the Control Panel if you have more than 1 instance of Office installed, like English and German. In Abbodi's Office Scrubber, you will find scripts that will remove licenses and reset licenses, you may wish to try them. @ratzlefatz, Any chance of adding a reset function such that Office can be brought back to the appropriate retail licenses with all other unnecessary licenses removed? I had a problem which was solved by removing all licenses and performing: Control Panel --> Uninstall a Program --> (Choose Office and click) Change --> Quick Repair (This action brought Office to original status) Then performing Retail to Volume conversion then activating.
I think the answer is Office resetting itself or using one of the apps that can do a complete reset/uninstall of the license keys. After the license keys have been completely removed stop and restart Office. It should now recognize that it has no license keys and offier to fix itself. This will bring it to the Grace Period state and you can then use one of the apps to readd the licenses, change to VL, and KMS. I used a slightly different method from @Simple07 MDL Senior Member Post #4414 Today at 10:46 but we both get to the same place to begin the process of readding the keys.
Chk'd status and uninstalled al licenses successfully. Only 1 language version of each product (Office, VisoPro, ProjectPro. Activated licenses and still got the activation banner. Went to Account page (in Word) and it shows "Product Activated" "Microsoft Office Mondo 2016" (Is that 2016 OK since I have 2019 installed?). Prob'ly have to go deeper yet
Why is it not showing 2019? Did you try to perform "Quick Repair"? As I mentioned in one of the posts, I had to reset the licenses, download Abbodi's scrubber and use the scripts "Remove_Licenses", "Reset_Licenses" or "Uninstall_Keys" but NOT the "Full_Scrub". Then perform the quick repair. This should reset your installation, find out what is it before proceeding further. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/discussion-microsoft-office-2019.75232/page-33#post-1466365 I also noticed that I needed to open and close Office Application (like Word) before the change shows!!. May I also suggest that you could change the Update Channel to something else, like Current, and see what happens.
Forgot to mention I did do a quick repair. No idea about the Mondo Office 2016. I'll go a bit deeper and then consider a reinstall should that not work when I have more time. Thanks for the help. Appreciate it.
By the way, you could also turn the banner off, open an Office application --> File --> Options --> General --> Privacy Settings --> Scroll to the bottom and uncheck "All connected experiences". As a matter of interest, how are you activating? and which tool are you using? It is important that the system thinks that it is connected to a KMS server. Hence the need for ospp.vbs /sethst:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Also, would you be kind enough and perform: C:\Windows\system32>cscript slmgr.vbs /ckms and C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16>cscript ospp.vbs /remhst then set them to the desired KMS IP address.

While this issue is being investigated to fully understand the way it works; we try to emulate a company setup, i.e., using familiar Volume releases that are activated by external KMS servers. However, I have installed a Retail release which is converted to Volume, it gave me trouble in the beginning, but I managed to easily sort it. During my quest to sort out issues, I stumbled across problems that took me quite some time, one of which was having an Office installation with two (LTR and RTL) language interfaces. I believe that what man can create; man can fix. Anyway, try changing what can be changed, one thing at a time and restarting Office twice before confirming results. Try changing channel, using a newer release of your KMS tool or even change it to see if it makes a difference. In theory, it should not, but I have been long enough in this field to know not to dismiss any possibility, because "What can go wrong will go wrong!". I have also noticed that there are three Licenses circulating for Office ProPlus 2021. I don't prefer internal (within Windows) KMS, because in the past Microsoft was able to detect it and disable it, sometimes with bad consequences. I prefer to have a KMS server on a Virtual Machine laying somewhere on the network and accessible (occasionally). Of course, you are probably already fed up. Some people may think we are rushing to help to show off. But we already know one way of sorting your issue. In fact, everyone is anxious to know why your installation has been giving trouble and wish to keep you going (before you format) so that we may learn from your experience. Good luck.
OK. Go figure. I started Word today and the banner was gone. Good news! Somewhere along the way, tho, it changed from Word 2019 to Word 365. And under Account it shows Product Activated followed by "Microsoft Office Mondo 2016". Does that make sense? Did I somehow enable the wrong update channel? My Word 2019 was showing a Version Number 2105.xxxxxx
