No it doesn't do anything like that. You are likely stuck with a Sandy Bridge mobile CPU that has a max TDP of 35W...remember the heatsink & cooling sucks in this laptop.

Hello. Maybe this is because the feature of wifi re-enabling is gone along with the whitelist check. Try covering the 20th pin of wifi card.

Hi @tqhoang ! I have a Dv7 6180sl notebook, and your modded bios 20180807 worked as a charm to remove wifi and bt whitelist, so now my intel wfifi+bt works perfectly. Thanks very much for your mod! I have noticed that entering the bios and switching from dynamic switchable graphics to Fixed and saving the cmos options results in a boot lock, which can be resolved only by resetting CMOS. Does that happen also to you? Thanks!
I recall someone else reporting that too. My dv6-6113cl (Intel i3-2310m with Intel HD Graphics 3000) does not have another graphics card, so I dare not touch much except for the fan temperature thresholds. In all honesty, I only added the updated microcode to an existing mod.

No, you might need to do a recovery with an official HP BIOS first and then try flashing my latest mod.
Hello @tqhoang I have an HP Pavilion dv6-1060eo laptop with serial number S/N: CNF906110P Can I upload a modified bios to it to be able to insert any WiFi 5ghz card? If so, can you help me and write me the latest/best bios to try to install and instructions on how to do it safely? I only care about WiFi, so I'm not interested in Bluetooth and Bluetooth doesn't have to work properly. If there is such a bios and you can help me point it out - what WiFi card to change and insert into the latpop would you recommend for this model so that it works smoothly? I'm currently struggling with the 5ghz USB card and I'm fed up with it, I would like to change it and forget about the messages and warnings that the WiFi card in the latpop is not on the white list.
