I would try for DMIScope to rewrite the serial... btw. the warranty isn't gone by that, I don't know what's your national rules about.....if they make trouble, just say it was gone during a regular biosupdate! (You can show the sales receipt anyway)
Epic fail Download on post 722 is an epic, doesn't work, laptop is rendered useless, not post, im glad my tech skill are sharp enough for that kind of issue. with that said does someone else have another file to try i can test on my dv4-1114nr all i want; i can always fix it
Well that's odd... usually hp flashing is the easiest than other brand... You're using Insydeflash? There's 3 bios file on the modded file... If you're gonna try with flas**t make sure you know which one is for your laptop... remember if you will use flas**t.exe yourbios.fd /all to unlock slic, make sure to note down first the sn (serial number), pn (product name) and uuid (uuid wil be FFFFF after flash) of your machine. you can find all of this on your bios set up, since this will be erased. You can then restore those with dmi tool @yen i think it is better to add this info in the first page.
yeah i lost the serial number,product name and got weird uuid. what is uuid good for? i've registered my laptop online at acer website prior from bios modding.can i recover those numbers online?
i flashed it and it is working thank you very much , i have downloaded the Ezh2o utility and the HP bin but i could not get it to work is there any tutorial on how to mode the bios.
