Get the chance to Windows 8 from 7850 build using as everyday OS, torturing it and using for everything..... Photoshop, some games, video editing, office, web asf.... I'm a tech 38 years old man, last week i upgrade back to windows 7 my notebook, (my two desktops far far away before...) and now i can work as best as i can, 10 times better than before with a fully stable machine.... And PS At my workplace we still use XP, and will NEVER upgrade to Windows 8 , 7 is just on the way for new computers....
microsoft dont care if sales are bad or not they will never give out anything for free they are too cheap lol
Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Phone8(and 7.8) working togheter will be easier to work and share
I don't believe, that server 2012 can be put into the same box as W8 and Phone8. Server is designed for a totally different market place and therefore I doubt that it'll act like W8. When installing, I had no questions about e-mail or if I want to sync anything. This is a standalone product and belongs to another family imao ...
don't take this as advertising, its not but one person on MSFN forums made wrapper that allows win7 explorer work on win8 so whole metro crap is disabled, you get start menu from win7 and its file-manager (explorer) maybe its a small hope for w8 users
does it matter ? those who dislike win8 way wants "old way" if MS had ANY understanding toward home users, they would provide OPTION to use new or old way instead they force people only their way and say f**k You to others
I use the Start Menu all the time. I have other things on my Desktop and I don't want to search through them for programs. I still like Windows 8, though, with Classic Shell.
here www_msfn_org/board/topic/157302-windows-7-explorer-for-windows-8 replace _ with . as I'm not yet allowed to put links here
Same for me. My desktop icons are: Computer, Network, Firefox. Programs I use most, I have them in my taskbar (word, bsplayer, winamp, imgburn, a.s.o). For the rest, i use the start menu.
Think again. What will happen if Windows 8 should fail to supersede Windows 7 and the entire M$ DRM project stops dead in its tracks because consumers are happy enough with Windows 7 ? Here are some reasons why Windows 8 may turn out to be a fail, and why Windows 9 will most definitely be a fail if things keep moving in this direction, which they most probably will. -Windows after Vista has insane DRM, which is hated by hardware vendors, software vendors and consumers alike. -Windows 8's Metro user interface is poor for desktop use and most people will simply find this change too radical for their tastes. Software vendors will also hate it, as they will have to rewrite their apps for Metro. -Hard cracking may turn the entire "upgrade" for many people impractical and many will fall back to the old rule "Never change a running system". -Windows 8 is very restrictive against what software may be installed. Microsoft has assumed direct control over the software ecosystem through the requirement for "digital signatures" for all software. Registry hack is available right now to allow for signed apps to be installed from places other than the Windows Marketplace, but for the future this may very well change, and even if it doesn't, MS Signatures are not exactly a dime a dozen so many small vendors will be locked out of the loop and will have to either go out of business or move to other pastures. -Once only MS approved vendors are left, MS will have no problems dictating terms back to them, much like Apple does, and they will be actually happy to comply as they will be the "chosen few" and the entire hungry marketplace will be ripe for harvest. Windows 8 is most likely to fail due to its poor user interface and the "immersive" view app style, which is great for a tablet with a small screen, but less than exciting, at least in a positive way for a desktop PC. Microsoft will never officially release keys for Windows and scream "Hey everyone, it's free lunch time", instead they will weaken the protection deliberately citing as a reason that some hospital got in trouble and a patient died much like with Windows Vista's unbreakable at first defenses, or that this time a nuclear submarine couldn't surface back because their Windows suddenly decided to deactivate itself, or some other crap that will be big enough to make it look reasonable and justified in the eyes of the public to weaken it up to allow for cracks to work again. I can promise you this much, that even if Windows 8 turns to be uncrackable in the first few months, M$ will find or make a reason to weaken its defenses and make cracking easy, because otherwise they will have major trouble beating its predecessor, Windows 7, which has everything a desktop OS needs and is absent in Windows 8. Microsoft's plan is destined to fail, as users are enslaved only by their unwillingness to experiment, not by any M$ crap. We still have all previous M$ OS's available and cracked, we have Linux, we have OS X86, and ChromeOS is going to become a very viable alternative to the oppressive, controlling new line of Windows OS's M$ plan to force down our throats, because while M$ will be eager to establish full control over the Windows ecosystem, Google will be very eager to establish themselves and their new OS as a better alternative.
I have no icons on my Desktop. I keep a very tidy Start Menu under XP and a very tidy Taskbar with all items I need under Windows 7 and the desktop is reserved only for files I am currently working on. Once processed, a file goes either to the Recycle Bin, the Downloads library, or to a relevant document library, with a descriptive and keyword-rich file name, so Windows Search can find it easier, but really, in this situation Windows Search is seldom needed. I find it hard to accept that an OS can deliver more useful functionality than that in terms of organisation, as everything already has a place and is well and neatly organized.
