Once I provided "John" from the NSA, all of my user names and passwords, WTP became noticeably faster.

stop what?. On a preview release?. LOL. They NEED all the information they can COLLECT FROM YOU to know how the OS is responding, and thats include EVERYTHING. If they used to get some data, just imagine now.
Why someone would use this as main OS, I cant even think about it.

1.) It didn't leak. He was trying to leak it

2.) They didn't check the e-mail account until AFTER they were told who it was. If they had access to it already he wouldn't have leaked anything at all or came close to trying.

3.) It was in their policy that they had the right to do something like that in order to protect trade secrets. He agreed to that and gave them that right, like anyone else who signed up for Hotmail, when he signed up for the service. That little snippet was in their policy for years before it happened. People should actually read EULA's.

    Try again.

Windows 10 Technical Preview comes with three extra Apps which can be removed like metro Apps

    DisplayName : Microsoft.CloudExperienceHost
    Version : 2014.913.449.3644
    PackageName : Microsoft.CloudExperienceHost_2014.913.449.3644_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe

    DisplayName : Microsoft.Cortana
    Version : 2014.913.449.3641
    PackageName : Microsoft.Cortana_2014.913.449.3641_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe

    DisplayName : Microsoft.MicrosoftFeedback
    Version : 2014.913.449.3644
    PackageName : Microsoft.MicrosoftFeedback_2014.913.449.3644_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe

The Microsoft.CloudExperienceHost App Package might be related to Preview Build Update Feature.

The Microsoft.Cortana App Package as you all know it's a personal assistant application and removing this app might remove the search icon on taskbar.

The Microsoft.MicrosoftFeedback App Package might be the one which does the job of collecting user data and sending them back to Microsoft. Removing this app might also remove the whole feedback thing.

Bud, they monitor stuff like program crashes and running programs to see what might be causing issues.
It's not enough to report that a program crashes.

We get this stuff constantly. People complain about a program not working correctly, or crashing.
I'd say 95% of the time it's due to another program such as an anti-virus program causing one or more of the required processes to fail.

If they can't report all the running programs they can never weed out legitimate compatibility problems.

If you don't want the spying, don't use the tech preview. They need the feedback now to make the better OS later.
Now, if they include this spying crap in a retail release, then you have a right to be up in arms.

It is even stated clearly in the Privacy Policy that it(Microsoft) is going to collect information about your system if there is possible crash or experienced other issues to fine tune their services. If anybody doesn't want that he or she can disable the feedback and other searches features in the system. However, I have nothing to hide from Microsoft at the moment.
