Thanks for such nice words mate. I made this poll just to see if my work is still needed, actually it seems so if I look at the poll's result after one day though. I renewed my MSDN sub for another year and I definately can supply all files which I have access to with my sub Let us wait upon the final result of the poll. If the majority wants x-files they will stay here, no question
The point here is what others have said Paul, how do you feel about your generous job/sharing files. Of course myriads of people need a reliable source of files just like yours, including me no question about that and I can predict the poll winner result with eyes closed: I like X-Files to be continued But as others has said and I agree: stay away from the comments of haters/detractors/M$ spies for you to be happy.
lol ... I can monitor haters just by reviewing the current results and a couple of these clowns will be on my ignore list for the future. I really enjoy the ride, believe me
I think people who are replying here know you Paul and know your X-files. I guess they have anything downloaded they need already and appreciate your efforts..so the answer is just like....do what you think is best for you ..to let it running is appreciated. Those who don't know you (yet) do not reply here/cannot....
absolutely Yen, I was in a situation where I really didn't know what to do for the future. Some have doubts about the integrity of the original text files directly copied from MSDN, what else can I do by simply do a time consuming copy and paste job to give perfect info about the files I provide, and some I believe simply cannot appreciate my work because they don't know what is behind (let the money aside). Sometimes I feel like an old idiot who tries to help where he can but some stoned cockatoos don't even realize ... Anyway, it looks like the show goes on for the sake of it ... Newcomers probably will chime in and find some valuable data in X-files where they can deal with. Since MS lifted up the subscription value to a new level, I will be in the position to even provide stuff which was not on my list in the past, so stay tuned what else will show up in the Jukebox shortly
Paul, I don't think that the whole checksums kerfuffle should be the point where you reflect on what you are doing, and certainly that shouldn't bog you down from doing what you are doing. I don't know how to justify that other than by saying that haters gonna hate! Just carry on! By the way, I just wanna say thank you for your service, and I'm looking forward to download more stuff in future that are not so common such as symbols.
Pl think about this options: if x-files are available: A. who do not need it: just ignore it as this will not affect them B. who need it: will be happy and If x-files are not available: A. who do not need it: affects nothing B. who need it: affects very much.
I voted NO!! Simply reason: those x-files are 'just' torrents/magnet links with not good download speeds etc. (for me!) all torrents/magnet links are available on the Internet on many different sites special the MS downloads today, most are available as original from Microsoft directly In fact, for the downloads I really need, I like to download originals only, copies will have a 'short 'life' on my computers and systems! That's just my own two Satang's!
The bold one sounds familiar to me. Being admin one needs a thick skin as well. Things to learn. We cannot have the things right for everyone. We need nothing in return, happiness comes from one's inner self. To have a good time is what counts. People with self-awareness 'feel' what is all about. Others try to make it 'bad'. Thanks paul for your efforts to let it running. I know what you mean...
In terms of download speed I monitor leechers with a rate of 10 to even 20MB/sec which is very high considering that I only have 5mb/s here at home, the max for private users. You might have a bad rate in your country or your provider only gives you a low rate, whatever ... The availability of isos is limited by MS, You can load all Core/Pro versions but you will not get enterprises or other exotic versions like embedded stuff etc. When files make their ways up to the sky it is most probably that they can be found everywhere one day but someone must start with putting them online like I do
