    I am using windows 8 ent 64 bit OS (KMS activated). Can I upgrade to windows 8.1 without formatting my hdd?

    And no, I used KMS, then later used the WMC key. So what i'm asking is the same, WMC upgrade key, can it work? Seems like it can't, yet Op's post say can. It's very confusing if I hadn't browsed through 61 pages to realise it doesn't work, would be a waste of effort for others as they discover through the hard way. Not complaining, just that people will be mislead by the first post.

    8.1 is much better than 8 & many will badly miss old $14 offer till new KMS method...

    Got a watermark that is asking me to Activate now, how do I get rid of it without activating, I want to go back to Windows 8 but don't want to format till tomorrow.

    As Tito stated, RTM introduces WDDM 1.3, so most likely no.
