Junner2003 Thanks for report. So it seems Phoenix bios Editor works at new structure. I'm very glad!. I've noticed that the new Phoenix bioses are decompressing much faster using PBE than older Lenovo structured bioses. Btw: Your Everest report was very useful. I could remove OEM lock at once with that info. iamgak Thank you, too. Enjoy.
There was a nice side effect with the 'adding of SLIC': The IdeaPad S9 / S10 series normally only support up to 2GB of RAM. There are 512MB of RAM fixed in the device and in addition I have a 2GB RAM module in there. Before flashing the new modified BIOS I had only 2GB of RAM - after flashing, I get now the entire 2.5GB RAM ... sweat! Now I just would like to add a few more screen resolutions. It looks like they are as well defined in ACPI in the BIOS - I just don't have any idea how to do that myself. It would be nice if I could add at least 1024x768, 1280x768 and 1280x800. I know that those resolutions would work only virtually (meaning: I would have to scroll to get to the end of my screen) but it would make the life much easer. Is there any chance that you can explain me what tools I would need to work on that part of the BIOS? Would the PBE be enough? Where would I find it? Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section!
No, I haven't got a TC-20 SLIC. But if you want a mod, you have to post a link to your original bios. IMO there is no problem to use another one.......
