Re: Well, you've said a splash screen, is it a logo, or only a text message?

    Yen,

My reference to the splash screen referred to a text message inside a dialogue box with an ok button requiring iinteractivity (pressing the enter key) before continuing.

Now that I've clarified, and added the information regarding the interactive keystroke that's necessary to continue on into the bios settings, is there more that needs to be done? Do I dare try this new mod before you can get back to me with a confirmation? :)

    Uhmm,

I've removed the text message only. The dialogue box may still appear. What will happen if you get stuck? Will you be able to boot and re-flash the other mod anyway?

Maybe you have a look at the logo files first to have a look if you find the dialogue box, what about a picture of it?

Edit: IMO the dialogue box is present in another module. But how to find the right module???

I am a perfectionist that's why i asked for the second mod, but the overall purpose, ridding my bios of the embedded spyware has been achieved. That's all that really mattered anyways.

If you determine where the dialogue box that contains the text we referred to is located, and can get it removed, that would be great. Getting rid of the spyware was worth risking my board for, but the nag screen, nah, not even.

    Thanks.

P.S. If anyone tries the biosmod2.rom and has results to offer, please post them here.

I agree. To play with this without to know where the nag screen is located seems too risky.....

I tried flashing with various releases of WinPhlash (including 1.6.6.3d and 2.x.x.x, and others ...) nothing worked.
Of course i'm on a 32 bit OS as PentiumM Banias are only x86 compliant.

I disabled the bios flash protection in the bios but it seems that it hasn't changed anything at all ...

    thank you !

    Hi Yen,

I am sorry for confusing you on bios mod. I want you to help on adding the SLIC table , and if possible to turn off the error 1802 . Please help me to add the SLIC into the bios then I could test vista on T30 which was original to support XP OS .

    Thanks
