Yen did you find the time to check my bios for Intel 5100 entries? I can do it myself if you're too busy, do I simply check for the dev id in big endian? I read that in order to change something in there I have to change other places to get the same filesize, I'm unsure about that part. Could simply replacing all mentions of the old 3945 with the 5100 devid be enough? (followed by fixing the filesize after compression)
Because they don't like bios mods? It's a Lenovo bios and the first time a AMI bios, for the other one there is a cross link to the AMI request thread..... If the implementation should be too much complicated..... there are 2 bioses only so far.....
Hello Yen, maybe the original bios was already broken, I don't know. Anyways I'm not looking for blame, I was happy that you tried to help me out. Maybe it was simply a bad flash, I was just surprised to see the Notebook not turn on at all. There is a company that can flash the TSOP for me, it will "only" cost around 50€. Let's hope for the best
Hi, I've decomposed the bios and at OPROM0.ROM there is found the byte sequence 685B80A872A03C50 only one time at the entire decomposed bios. It's in fact the IBM VGA Compatible BIOS! So I need only to replace it with: 68 5B 78 A8 52 1A 3C 40 ? No further modifications needed? What about the colour depth?
