The SLIC's are independent of the OS type activating. (If ACER SLIC2.1 activates, another SLIC 2.1 will do that as well, assumed you are using the corresponding certificate.). I would use the Lenovo SLP key for professional edition and Lenovo certificate to have consistency in brands. The fact about Lenovo blacklisting is that the first ultimate key which was leaked is blacklisted now. There never was an issue about professional keys and the SLIC itself. To test the biosmod just open it with andy's Phoenix mod tool. A pop up window will inform you about SLIC2.1.
Ahhhh. I am sorry, Admin! I was reading at Page 43. I had to be careful more! I will search carefully before I ask something here. forgive me. Anyway, thank you for your quick response. Much appreciated.
OK thanks for the clarification...will try the mod for my laptop listed on the first post. UPDATE: Modded BIOS works perfectly...no issues with Win7 Pro Also applied this BIOS to a T40 owned by my brother and installed Win7 on his machine as well
Hello Yen, sorry that I am taking up this topic back. But I've got probably very valued information which can help to mod BIOS to accept any HDD. One man (on social network LinkedIn) recommended me this: My question is: are you able to edit the BIOS and check if it is pushing ATA command 0xEC to a drive? And if yes, is possible to see where the returned value goes then (conditions etc.)? Thank you! Lukas
