    Tomorrow i get my new notebook, a IdeaPad G550. Can i use the modded Bios for the G530?

    You're G550 should already have SLIC 2.1 bios I think, 'cause it's a new model, if i'm not wrong.

    I didn't say anywhere It was working I've just summerize informations to people not to use wrong one with thier laptop.
    I said that I've used 2.28 for my R61 8918 thinkpad.

    if it doesn't work I think you can delete the file on rapidshare to avoid people using it.

    No, i tried not to flash it back and i'm glad i didn't do it. :)
    WinPhlash is a very stupid programm, it only makes backups of the same length as the "orginal" bios file. in my case, i don't have an original flash file, so i used a dummy. so the result is a too short bios dump...

    Any ideas how to dump my bios? i tried flashrom under linux but it does not support my flash chip. :(
