Looked around a bit, couldn't really find any info on why to mod the BIOS...could anyone shed some light on that? Overclocking? Enabling extra options? Also, the 2nd post states that there is a modded BIOS for the G530 (The type I have), but for the MT 4666, but I have the G530 4666-35U. Is there a difference?
I've decided to test this out and will gladly report my results. I'm just having trouble making sure I am making my Recovery Disk correctly. I'll keep you posted.
Need some help please. I want to use a modded BIOS for my Thinkpad - T60 (8741W83). At the moment i have BIOS VERSION 1.17 (7IET36WW) wit SLIC 2.0 (BIOS DATE 2009-08-27). I need one with SLIC 2.1. Which one i have to use? I found one for the T60 in the start post - but there is not written which BIOS-Version and for which models they are. Thanks for help Sonstiger
Me again ... I read the Thread again and i am not sure what to do now. Would be very happy to get some help. What i have: Thinkpad T60 8741W83 BIOS: 1.17 (7IET36WW) DATE: 2009-08-27 Phoenix BIOS /ACPI 2.0 SLIC 2.0 by manufacturer Windows 7 ultimate What i need: SLIC 2.1 I read, that it is the safer method to update the marker only - but i am confused how to do it because i didn't find a understandable explanation via the links in this Thread. How can i update just the marker to geht SLIC 2.1? Thank you very much for help Sonstiger
Yes, I have the same, they just released 1.17, was happy to see it, in the change notes it says "Windows 7 support added" I thought maybe slic 2.1 But no I have TP-7I also. Can't find anything.... anyone have a solution yet?
Well I believe that it should work for you as well since they both use the same bios. I'd rather you get confirmation from Yen or another experienced person since I just started looking into it this past week and I havent even tried a bios mod yet because I'm being very precautious. Good luck and hope all goes well if you decide to do it from here on out.
Thank you very much for your help thus far! Yes. i will wait untill Yen is here and can answere my questions professionally. If i try it, i will write the results here. Greetings Sonstiger
I Have a T60P widescreen, and I am using the exact same bios - even same OEM ID : TP-7I - So I also need slic 2.1.
@ mhottie Yes, then you need the same like me i think - same mission. We have to wait untill we get an answere of Yen - he is the expert. I hope we will get it to work. Greetings Sonstiger
