Thank you for your answer. I'm afraid it's Phoenix But it's possible to use BIOS from another model? (non-Lenovo, because probably Lenovo uses whitelist in all models) Should I find in that case model with the same chipset, processor, memory, built-in audio, video & lan? thx Yackoo
No. It has to be another model (similar hardware) of Lenovo. A bios is very hardware specific and any incompatibility may cause a brick....you only should go for such a try if somebody has confirmed that another bios is working....to brick by flashing another bios by yourself would be a risk you shouldn't take...
Lenovo SL500 Bios 6AET62WW (1.28) - Report Lenovo SL500 upgraded from 1.25 mod to 1.28 mod no problem. Activation works perfectly. I thank you Yen for your never-ending time, hard work and many efforts ! Till next time..... Sincerely, Maru_7711
Yeah, the marker tools are the best: 1. No risk to brick 2. SLIC will persist at any further biosupdate, no need to care about anymore.. @ Maru_7711 & sloozer Always my pleasure to help you.
I have used Everest and it shows BIOS Type "AMI" and BIOS Manufacturer "American Megatrends Inc."... So is it Phoenix or not? I'm totally confused... In BIOS I have option to flash BIOS, but it don't work "No FAT partition..." or something... edit: SLIC Dump Toolkit shows AMI BIOS / ACPI 2.0. So, how to (step by step) remove whitelist check or add new devide id? I'm not experienced user in modifying any code... Yackoo
