    Hey,

This is actually my first post and was wondering if maybe someone could help me by walking me through what I needed to post for request BOIS.

I have the latest BIOS drivers for the Lenovo W500 (Win7 Version) from the lenovo site, but they dont have the Slic 2.1

Anyway someone could help me out with getting them or finding the information that I need to post for someone to help me?

    I would greatly appreciate it!

Yes, is available. It starts and allows browsing FAT32 formatted pendrive. And shows "old" .rom file, but I didn't try to choose it and go more... So, now we are waiting for postman with my card to check ID.

Yen, what do you think - is flashing with modified BIOS very dangerous operation? It means - how big is risk of totally brick my laptop?

OLD.ROM? Is it the backuped bios? Can you backup the bios or upload the old.ROM file?
To backup using the internal flashtool is the best way.

Well, I have managed to replace the:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_423B&SUBSYS_10118086 (next to your current ID) with PCI\VEN_14E4& DEV_4328& SUBSYS_000A1028.

Andy's tool reintegrated the modified module and corrected the checksums. The tool did that successfully at EFI SLIC mods (middleton's routine)......

To exchange the ID's is safe since it's no code, but data. I have decomposed the entire bios and I have found your current ID at one place only, so I can be sure it is the right one.

Anyway to be honest this kind of mod at EFI was never done before and to flash is always a risk. I don't know if your internal flashtool allows to flash the same version of the bios again, though...in case of recovery, you have your backuped bios, anyway to find the right name for it so that the recovery routine would find it for recovery would be an effort as well....

    Hi Yen,
Internal flash utility (Easy Flash Utility from BIOS) allows only flash "new" .rom
I can't see backup or save option.
I have made backup with external software (this is file I have send to you). I have save this file to pendrive to check internal flash utility will see it. But I didn't try to flash it (current version with the same). Maybe I should to check that built-in BIOS Easy Flash allows this operation?

You wrote you have changed next to my current ID - it means, in BIOS is still ID for my current WiFi? And a new ID? (sorry - my English isn't perfect). So, my old card should also work after all?
