I saw that too, however the path length in my case was nowhere near that long. My path length was less than 70 characters, including file names, perhaps too short... <just joking>
Well, its a fairly common issue. There are many posts out there in google land about it, fairly well documented, thats why I'm not so worried about it, since there are workarounds...
I am on .737, too and checked a few. Anyway the issue seemingly does not occur here. At least I could not spot it. Well, for a proper troubleshooting one needs to find a cause. When you're saying it's not the path length and it occurs anyway then there must be an additional condition which makes the difference and the shown absolute path length is not the only one. You've posted it occurs on virtual disk, does it on real local disk as well? I assume it's a VHDX or VHD which is stored somewhere already and mounted. That means it comes with an own path itself...and the absolutes in there might be extended. To figure that you'd need to compare. Edit: Just read it occurs on real disk as well... but not on primary disks...hmm I only have primary partitions.... This is the official reason anyway:
