Thanks so much. The program I was using kept showing the last character as a number 1, not a letter L. Worked first time no problem. It is greatly appreciated.
Hello all, I searched and searched for a while now and I am having a similar problem but w/ a Latitude D620. THIS thread was the only one that I can see to still have some life to it. Is there anyway you can help w/ this model? I'm trying to unlock the Unlock Setup portion of the Security options in the BIOS but the status states LOCKED. Hopefully you can assist me thanks! The BIOS Version is: A10 My asset tag/System Number is: 95DYVB1-595B *******Nevermind******* I found this CD ht tp:// www .megaup load. com /?d= KTBUFV2P I believe its the actual tool used by Dell. Boot to the CD, Enter Yes to change Service Tag, then enter a dummy 7 digit service tag, and then Yes to change. Reboot back into BIOS and verify the previously Locked sections are now Unlocked. Afterwards repeat the process only this time enter the actual Service Tag info found on the actual Service Tag (the sticker on the bottom of the laptop). I used this successfully on a D620 and on an older D610 so I'm sure it will work for the D830. I had to break the link up w/ spaces because the boards didnt allow me to post links w/ out 20 total posts...surely you can figure it out though L8ER!
I have a D830 locked (power on password) its service tag is 58LPD3J-595B . dell 595b keygen generate : 40vn61o1 ( qwerty ) but that don't work ; i 've tried Ctrl+entre ... thnx in advance please help
Perhaps your D830 has a BIOS password bug. If you have another machine, then you can try to upgrade the BIOS using the Dell HDR Recovery method that's linked in my signature. You'll need to format a USB stick using the HP USB Storage Format Tool along with some kind of DOS (minidos, MS DOS, etc). Then extract the D830 HDR file (ex: D830_A15.EXE -writehdrfile) and then copy & rename the file ("D830A15.HDR") onto the USB stick. Then try the generated password again. 40vn61o1 (FOUR-ZERO-victor-november-SIX-ONE-oscar-ONE)
thanks for the replay I tried bios recovery procedure - Dell HDR Recovery method (like you said above ) "Extract HDR file from EXE: D830_A15.EXE -writehdrfile Rename the file to D830A15.HDR Copy D830A15.HDR to a formatted USB key Unplug AC adapter and battery from the bricked laptop; Holding press "END" on the keyboard, plug AC Adapter; The battery light is on with red Release "END", the power light is on and laptop power up" but this laptop after entering into bios recovery mode , switch off 3 or 4 second after , without reading from USB key
Make sure the USB stick is formatted as FAT (FAT16 or FAT32), not NTFS or exFAT. Also perhaps try a smaller USB stick if you're trying to use a 2+GB stick.
