@EFA11 I was reading it earlier but there's no really much info I wanted to know from someone who use it. For example will I be able to disable windows defender wit it and any other service?
Defender (offline antivirus) is included in DaRT which is a part of MDOP, lol. You can do these asked jobs without MDOP. (You can disable windows defender and any other service by running services.msc)
@Yen well actually you can't disable any service you want as you did in win 8.1, you haven't tried win 10 much I see
Wow,reading really isn't your strong suit,eh? MDOP is to manage and monitor active windows deployments (or as you quaintly put it 'running windows').As it stands, again,I advise you to stay away from this suite, because it's clearly beyond your comfort zone(same goes for the ADK which was linked to by TONSCHUH.. @Yen - isn't it fun how someone that needs help to understand a couple of plainly-written sentences in a Wiki is sooooo quick to call other people out as inexperienced, lol?
Carol666 you are almost right. I NEVER tried w10 RTM But I strongly thought services can be disabled without additional tools...gpedit.msc--->Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Defender/Real-time Protection
RTM with a rolling release OS? ... But yeah, services can be disabled without having to resort to additional tools, the only hiccups are that A)there's a massive amount of FUD about what 'telemetry' means in 10 (especially when I bet that the vast majority of complainers have smartphones ) and B)the law of unintended consequences - tinkering with half-understood registry settings is starting to cause problems. Edit: First,Group Policy is only for 10 Pro,for Home, you need to go at it via the registry and second - I responded to the following post at a certain alternate venue,Yen
I am one of the complainers. I consider a smartphone still as a toy for fun and have customized it for my needs (rooted). A desktop OS should be more trustworthy (banking, pro work, corporate use) hence if I would have to use w10 then only enterprise ltsb wit a license from the company where I work. The 'home' versions do not provide the needed features to set it up to my satisfaction, it was on XP the same. I'd never use a OS where I cannot disable services without to mess up the entire OS. Instead of trying tools packages on w10 home I rather would go for enterprise.
Could I use MDOP 2015, DaRT 10 if you will, to troubleshoot a system which might be earlier such win 8.1 or 7 ?
