These posts are full of inconsistencies and stereotypes.
Red: Making a definition and then excluding yourself without any reasonable argument....!?

BTW: It are the paying people who have to be productive who do not adopt w8 / are complaining (even because it is for many people / companies a matter of money to adopt)!!! Not those lurkers and pseudo M$ fanboys who run pirated copies, honestly you have no clue at all.
And yes people want new technology and find it @competitors, they do not refuse to change, they simply don't like windows 8. (just like me). If M$ is listening to me I don't care...I have a legit w7 license here.

And you say that "they should be thankful that microsoft is not suing their asses to eternity." whilst admitting to run Daz loader and MTK yourself!? You are deceiving yourself, what a joke.
Honestly never have read such a pseudo M$ fanboy post without sense at all...
You may delete your posts again (since I have replied).

Looks like a StartMenu/Start screen hybrid ...more metro intrusion?...no thanx... SiB is just fine...;) (not that I mind additional functionality/options being added)

BTW I do like the XAML based desktop windows tho'....

(I gather, most of these changes are more directed at keeping corporate clients' users happy)

Just look at the size of the title bar and the title bar's text in relation to the size of the text elsewhere. That's the most obvious clue. With the full-resolution image, you can also notice how the two windows look scaled (loss of sharpness, text too small, etc.) while everything else is unscaled.

The Start Menu might be real, though, since that does match the rest of the UI, and since the two different screenshots have two different start menus. But the windows are definitely pasted-in.

    Why need to speculate?

Fact is that either you and I didn't know how that picture were taken! It could be even not an simple screenshot! Also it seems to be shot at the Developers Conference and could therefore be an picture taken with Camera from an projected picture! And that's what I think were happen and were those picture came from!

And I really don't know why you were started to argue about that! There's no any reason to do that!

Forget about the actual genuineness or otherwise of the photo.
The real issue is whether the old start menu as in win 7 will come back in 9. I think there is a high chance it will.
Maybe people could hold off with XP for some more months and jump straight to 9. I think the 8.1 start menu will remain as it is now.

Surely if they wanted, they could have done it in win 8.1 update 1 which would have made great timing with the end of support of XP. It would hardly require much effort as the various 3rd party softwares attest to.
Holding off till a theoretical 8.1 update 2 (if any) for another 6-9 mths does not make much sense.

moderator, I cannot take somebody serious who wants people get sued for something he is doing by himself. And I cannot take somebody serious who says he loves a company whilst pirating their stuff.
That's all. People who are willing to get a legit copy have the right to say what they don't like at w8 and M$ is listening to those (because it hurts to loose their god=money). Those are large customers who pay for the license, not pirates like you.

People should make their own opinion about your posts.

I think the missing start menu in W8 was MS' biggest mistake ever. On the other hand, I recently installed Linux Mint 16 Petra XFCE in a virtual machine and use it for security-sensitive tasks, like online banking to get rid of most key loggers, viruses, trojans etc. Now that was some adaptation, I can tell you. But I managed and am quite happy with it. Guess you'll say that I'm a total exception, right?

Bad ideas are simply bad, and calling people who openly dislike them backwards-oriented is the real defamation here. MS could have easily avoided all that mess by giving people an option to choose between Modern UI and Desktop, even if deeply hidden in the registry, like in the DP. But no, they were to greedy for some cash from the store... so they got exactly what the deserved: a ridiculous market share.

I will leave your hypocrite thoughts uncommented, Yen wrote everything already about that. Just one thought: do you honestly believe that MS is bringing back the start menu because of unhappy pirates? You really want to say that the vast majority of legitimate users is happy with W8? In that case I can only say: dream on, buddy. MS might sometimes act stupid, but they're not that moronically stupid.

As a legit windows user i have to say that for me the problem wasn't in getting used to start screen, but with Microsoft forcing me to use it with no alternative. At the end people vote with their wallets, and Microsoft does have to do what it's customers want, so they will bring back start menu.

IMO - ANYONE who has to belittle someone else, their ideas, or likes/dislikes, to make their point, really has no point to make.
But what do I know, I'm old and have no sex life...

metro UI is slow to diarly use, distract and dont allow to do many task at the same time. Its limited to only two or maybe three windows. Probably the most retarded thing ever done on an OS, and for sure they try to make this crap look like the phone interfase, which is a piece of crap by definition and NO ONE move to any window$ phone, because they are useless with an incredible stupid interface and many limitations.
Windows 9 wont solve this permanent damage that micro$$oft did intentionally

I think the image is real. I mean, they were demonstrating the start menu in the keynote.

Could all calm down a bit?

I created this threat about the maybe returning Start Menu to the latest version of Windows OS and NOT for to start arguments.

Critics are welcome all times as long as those critics didn't get personal in any means. We're living in an civilized world in which everybody has it's own and daily problems to solve. There to many user's who forgotten that there was a time in their life they didn't had known anything and were not able even to take care for their own and all had to start learn from the very beginning what life is all about and how to handle it! That was starting as small kid, later in School and, and, and, till to the stage of the very actuell moment! And, NOBODY is perfect, special not those who trying to be just that, from which quite some on this forum too!

Again, fundamental critics are welcome all times but arguments which are founded by: NOTHING!

For some years I'm Administrator and Moderator on several foren. All of that forums having their Rules, as MDL has too. Staff of an forum also need to stay to the rules same as the normal member! Be an Administrator or Moderator, didn't means that they didn't have more rights than the normal member, special not to attacking and/or accusing members in open public forum. What happens in this threat today, would never happens in one of the forums I'm staff of! Such would be handled by Private Messages.

I haven't re-read the rules of MDL yet, will do later, I still think those will be not different than on my other forums!

So, please calm down and never forget that ALL of us had started one day with no knowledge at all at ground zero! Don't get personal and if you need, use the PM for it, keep it out of the public!
Don't show off with knowledge you may have or may not have! This is an Cyber World and and any proof is difficult to achieve.
Don't do to others you don't like others do to you! Is as simple as that!

Thanks you for reading and maybe understanding.

LOL .. good humour guys

Just a point I'd like to put straight for the newbs here.... Yen does not have a 'tool' or whatever but is the GrandMaster particularly regarding bios mods... Windows Loader and MTK is not the work of a single person, rather has been a collaborative effort by many here at MDL.

...and we are not a 'pirate' site.. we are just enthusiasts exploiting deficiencies in M$'s activation techniques... amongst other things

I hardly ever criticise anybody for typo's because many are not native speakers! Even native speaker writing a lot mistakes and they didn't get criticised from you and others! If you didn't have anything to say about what I and others talking about, why answer, only for to show off?
