Yes. Some bioses have got a SLIC string prepared already! Some bioses have got a full SLIC already. If you don't see any SLIC with your original bios, just press yes to continue.

I've been reading htru the forum and I didnt find any info on how to mod a bios for SLP1.0 activation, except for the AMI_SLIC tool that does it automaticly.
I can get the required strings from the tool, but I dont know exactly where to insert them.
The question is concernig Phoenix and AWARD bioses.
Also and AMI bioses, when douing the SSV mod.

By the way, when douing the SSV mod, how do I insert the 1b module back after modifying it?

    PETAR is right,

I want to mod my AWARD BIOS for SLP1.0 activation, but I don't know where to insert the STRING and how to insert. I have these 2 little tools
    ( DMI_CFG236 & DMI_CFG243 ).

Where do I find the String that corresponds to my OEM Manufacturer String???
What has to be inserted into the Bios?? Manufacturer Name, Product Name,
Version; Serial Nr, UUID, ???? and where do I find the necessary STRINS????

If there would be a tutorial, that would be great.
If once I'll have the chance to realize this, I'll write one.

    Thank you

    YEN, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

If I understand you well, there are to ways 2 activate WinXP by SLP1.0..
either use DMI tools to add the necessary string into the actual installed bios
or take a new bios-file, modify it and install it.

I alredy have a WinXP installation activated by SLP1.0, but I don't find in these files OEMBIOS.BIN, OEMBIOS.CAT, OEMBIOS.DAT and OEMBIOS.SIG on the Install-CD the string to add into the Bios!!!

    O.K. I'll read this thread.

    Nevertheless... THANK YOU

There are only few men like you with such a great knowledge and are ready to share this knowledge.

    I was just wondering...
Is it posible to combine the SSV2 and New oem7 AWARD mods like this:

    For AWRD bioses.
You find free space in the bios file, compress the SLIC table with dumy bios, paste over the free space and enter its adress in ACPITBL.BIN at RSDT and/if XSDT.

    Any sugestions are welcomed..:D

I've tried to make a SSV2 mod at Asus a7V333 (Award bios).

Result: There was no SLIC shown at ACPIScope. You cannot inject the SLIC by writing SLIC.BIN into the biosfile directly. A dump of the bios with Hwdirect after, showed me that the SLIC data were lost.

I haven't tried to inject it as OEM7 module code. Anyway the problem at Award bioses is that you have to enlarge the ACPI code (add 4 or 8 zero bytes). The resulting compressed code will be enlarged also. You can try to modify other text strings to remain the original compressed size.

    You are wright...:)
I've just tryed it with oem7 module and no it does not work.
After you add the modifyed ACPITBL.BIN in the bios, the injected oem7 module is lost.

    ROM Holes and SLIC

Reading one of Yen's posts on another thread I found asking my self...

We know that at some Phoenix bioses there is a complete SLIC when the bios is decompresed.
But when flashed and loaded the SLIC is half shadowed, and does preventing the activation.
    So my question is:
Are ROM Holes responsalble for shadowing the SLIC table ?
