Can you explain what doesn't work?
I just tried sony and can confirm slic/slp is in the bios.
Are you loading/installing the corresponding cert for the bios?

    Some assistance please

I am using Wmware Workstation v10.0.1. I've created a vmachine with a fresh copy of windows 7 x64 and activated windows one of those pre-activators coming with the windows installation files. I run "VMware_Man&Auto_Selector_v385D.exe" as administrator and select the number for example in this case I chose LENOVO to emulate a LENOVO motherboard in my vm. I didn't change any settings in the vmx file. I just let "VMware_Man&Auto_Selector_v385D.exe" do it's job. However, no matter which motherboard manufacturer I choose, only RSDT changed to reflect the bios machine manufacturer, the rest is always the same as in the picture below.

    I View attachment 26537

Also upon running "msinfo32" System Information always reports:

    System Manufacturer: VMware, Inc.
    System Model: VMware Virtual Platform

Am I doing something wrong? How can I change the system manufacturer and system model settings in the ".vmx" file so I can put my own details? Any ideas? I'd greatly appreciate the assistance.

    Thanks a lot guys

I remember my first crossing to MDL "whaa? we can do that? shut the front door!" Its like entering a hidden realm of twistery and twickery bundled with plenty of red and blue pills.

Still awaiting Customized Bootscreen Logos - Perhaps top TEN only?

It was so pacifying seeing the custom bootscreens in the old version of this AMAZING VMware BIOS patch tool. You knew for sure your guest was booting with the right manufacturer's BIOS. Thank you first of all to the teams to have even created this OUTSTANDING tool :)

I terribly miss this neat Bootscreen feature, as cosmetic as it may have seemed, and have even attempted a number of times to read through what it takes to load-in the logos - for even just the one or two manufacturers I use most (Dell, HP). I conclude the procedure with required tools is beyond the reach of us mere mortals :-(

So this is a humble request to re-introduce the Logos, even if for just the top TEN manufacturers. I know how formidable it would be doing the entire lot (over 150!), and can readily understand that's what has kept this piece from evolving, but with just a few major players fixed-up (even if only FIVE and not ten), I believe a LOT of users will all of sudden benefit a whole bunch.

Can this request be considered, PLEASE?

    A few questions:

    1. If i use e.g. a SLIC 2.3 BIOS in VMware v10 will I then be backwards compatible with SLIC 2.2 + 2.1 + 2.0 so that I'm able to install e.g. Vista and Win 7?

    2. Can you use a SLIC 2.0 .XRM-MS certificate with SLIC 2.1 + 2.2 + 2.3 or what determines with which SLIC versions it can be used?

    3. What difference can there be between different .XRM-MS certificates that works with the same SLIC version?

    4. Can I use a clean MSDN/technet Win 7 Pro/Ultimate ISO to install in the VM with a modded BIOS and activate afterwards with the .XRM-MS certificate and OEM serial? or do I need an specific manufacturers OEM DVD/ISO or create one somehow?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer :)

This can depend on manufacturer some certificates are different between slic versions. But if you use Dell they have same certificate and slics are all backwardly compatible so dell slic 2.3 and certificate will still work back to vista. And yes you can use clean msdn iso.

    Non-default menu

If I install VMware Workstation to the default location, the tool (VMware_Man&Auto_Selector_v385D(2).7z) works like a charm. But if VMware is not installed in the default location the NON-DEFAULT MENU loads and, no matter which number I type, I always obtain "Invalid Selection:- try [re-type] ... returning to main menu". Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you for this great tool.

    Cheers,
