I hope the thread isn't dying. It has been a very useful source of information. You can remove almost every system app in a smooth and safe way, which is great. But there are still few left that don't make all that much sense. I have tried looking for information but couldn't find it or it wasn't concrete or from awhile back. Did people figure out how their removal will affect the system? Here is the list of what I know: Client.CBS - not sure, would like some more info on whether it has something to do with actual CBS, appears to be Windows Feature Experience Pack with some non-essential features FilePicker - basically selecting files in explorer dialog but for UWP. need to know if UWP apps won't let you use the regular one without it AddSuggestedFoldersToLibraryDialog - there was a post about it potentially affecting quick access pinning but no confirmations later, pretty useless otherwise NsciUwpApp - network connectivity status indicator, appears to be development tool, safe to remove according to Optimize-Offline. not sure why MSMG doesn't have it on the list PrintDialog - will UWP apps refuse to print at all without it? Is it not just for edge? UndockedDevKit - saw that it "might" affect start menu functions but no confirmation PinningConfirmationDialog - could be that it causes Pin to Start to reset on reboot but again, no confirmation CloudExperienceHost - mostly azure employee stuff if you use answer file during install, probably has no place on a personal machine but there was a post that suggested slowdowns on a new user account? not sure if it's just on first logon
Thanks for everyone's concern, don't worry I'm doing fine, as I said earlier I won't be available for 2-3 months as I will be busy in my native village with the survey and fencing of my farm land. There was as issue with my laptop's display interface due to which couldn't update the Toolkit. Since most of the work is finished and now I'm back to the city, soon will be updating the Toolkit with new components removal items.
It's so funny to watch interested people worry about you. It's very nice to watch. I wish you success in the village. Everyone needs to rest. Thank you for your hard work, have a great holiday.
The list I get from running Code: DISM /Get-Packages on an offline Windows 11 image lacks a lot of the packages listed in RemovePkgsList_W11.txt. Packages related to Internet Explorer in RemovePkgsList_W11.txt: Code: Microsoft-Windows-IE-Troubleshooters-Package Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Optional-Package microsoft-windows-internetexplorer-optional-package-Wrapper Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Optional-Package-Wrapper Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-merged-Package Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Optional-Payload-merged-Package Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Optional-Payload-Package Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Package Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Package-ua To contrast, there are only two IE-related packages in the /Get-Packages output: Code: Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Optional-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~en-US~11.0.22000.1 Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Optional-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~11.0.22000.120 Is there any point putting the other 7 packages? Overall I get 67 packages through /Get-Packages - that's in contrast to the upwards of 300+ in RemovePkgsList_W11.txt. Where did the ~250 difference come from?
Thanks! I'll keep that command in mind for the future. I have never dealt with Nsudo, so wasn't sure how safe it would be (being not from Microsoft and all that). I think I saw a couple errors in the output, but I admit I just clicked through everything which is completely my bad.
It's great to hear from you once again! Now that we know you are well, we can stop worrying about you and your project.
All praise is to Allah, awesome to see you are back @MSMG, even better to hear you are doing OK. Cheers.
@MSMG Good to hear from u back. Is it possible to install just capture picker which I nuked when ddebloating the iso ? I am unable to share screen on online meetings. Even snipping tool is crashing.
Hello! I was wondering if anyone knew how to properly install the newest Cumulative Update for Windows 11 (KB5010386), because every attempt I've made has ended with an error. I was able to come close by extracting the Servicing Stack Update .cab and the Cumulative Update .cab & .psf, then moving them to the \Updates\w11\x64 folder. But even after attempting this it still resulted in failure: Spoiler: Error: 0x800f0988 =============================================================================== MSMG ToolKit - Integrate Windows Updates =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ####Starting Integrating Windows Updates####################################### ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Image : Install.wim Image Index : 1 Image Architecture : x64 Image Version : 10.0.22000.318.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ####Processing Windows Updates Packages######################################## ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Creating Windows Updates Packages Temporary folder... Hi everyone, I was wondering if has a way to keep the components removed and the optimizations included in a ISO after a update in windows 10/11. And if I set the windows updates to install just security updates, the components will come back? And if any of you guys, could give me a pack including some tweaks to apply to the system to the components, optimizations stay on the system would be appreciated.
Why don't you read the thread in your spare time (it's all been discussed here many times already), or MSMG's posts ? Believe me, you will discover many interesting and very useful things about your questions. msmg-toolkit.50572/page-1103#post-1718659 msmg-toolkit.50572/page-941#post-1650527
