Hey MSMG! Thanks for the awesome program. One thing I wanted to ask: why is the slimmed down ISO bigger in size, than the original? I mean I remove almost every Store app, Defender, Edge, etc., but it is still bigger. Am I doing something wrong, or is it supposed to be this way?
Did you do [3] Apply - [6] Rebuild Source Images after applying your changes but before creating your final ISO?
you got it the other way round, its [6] Apply changes to image and [3] Rebuild image with maximum compression.
After "Apply and Save changes to Source images", I should also run "Rebuild Source images"? Hm, maybe I left that out. I'll try this evening.
well people' need have some patience GUI version of Toolkit is very complex MSMG already talk several times then wait including myself
1) There's no other way, either you need to manually disable it or use a registry tweak integrated to image which turns off the messages. 2) Will test again with the installation and report back 3) Yes that's correct it should Remove All Apps including Xbox except Store App and it's doing correctly what's wrong with it?
How can I use that registry tweak? I only want to remove those concerning the default apps or whatever this "bug" is and not all. What controls the Action Center? Security and Maintenance under Control Panel or Notifications and Actions under Settings? I suposse it's the latter but I disabled all in both (but the ones under Security and Maintenance under Control Panel that can't be deactivated) and I still have this "bug"... I tested again and now I can shorten the Start Menu without restarting explorer.exe after I removed those live tiles. It looks like it only happens in Hyper-V. If its name is "Remove All Apps Except Store and Xbox" or something like that why does it remove all Xbox apps?
Regardless, it appears that console input is disabled on 16179. No input devices are accepted. This is probably an undocumented bug in this build. All previous builds were able to accept input at the menu prompts. Even attempting with virtual keyboard fails and just causes the system to beep back at me. Very odd behavior. As such, this problem has nothing to do with MSMG, but has to do with an internal cmd.exe regression.
You're on to something! After pressing CTRL+ALT, I was able to press a number key and have it recognized. Interesting, odd behavior. Seems this workaround will work for now.
I am ready to make another image, but I am now confused as to how I am supposed to edit WIM registry ahead of installation. I pretty much want to remove most items from "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Appx\AppxAllUserStore\InboxApplications" before I install the OS. How do I make that happen?
