Thanks again for this great tool. Question: what do I need to leave (not remove) to keep the start menu indexing new shortcuts? For example I install a new program, let's say it's 7-Zip. On normal "uncut" Windows I open start menu, type "7" and it finds it. On mine "cut" it doesn't work. I can type the exact name "7-Zip" and it still doesn't show up. Many thanks in advance!
Ugh, not very familiar with HDI and ACL... I have 2 questions for now: 1. How do we test this? Many games are shipped with VC++ DLL files present in the .exe directory. I, however, usually rename them and force the game to use the ones from System32 folder because they are usually newer than the ones game provide, but its not like I have a game for every VC++ out there... 2. When I re-repack files with proper permissions, does it have to be done freshly or could they just be extracted using any setup and then re-packed? BTW, I did use NSudo to remove files from NetFX 4.7 pack, but I did the easy (the wrong) way by opening Notepad with NSudo and deleting files/folders that way. My apologies for taking my time - had some PC trouble!
Is it possible to disable tasks in an offline image? Are there tasks that are required for you to login? I literally disable all, but Software Protection Platform.
Tasks are stored in registry so you can delete or disable them in an offline image. The tree is stored in : HKLM\TK_HKLM_SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tree The task is stored in : HKLM\TK_HKLM_SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tasks Each task has its own id in "Tree" key. The Id is used in "Tasks" key. To delete a scheduled task you have to remove each key in "Tasks" and "Tree". To disable a scheduled task you have to disable a task on an online image, then capture the value in "Triggers" within the Tasks\{id} key and finally edit the value in the offline image. The "Hash" sub-key should be edit as well. On my own Windows 10 ISO i deleted telemetry tasks and useless tasks (like Xbox) in the offline image. I use $OEM$ + SetupComplete.cmd to disable scheduled tasks with the command "schtasks". PS: do not delete or disable "\Microsoft\Windows\CloudExperienceHost\CreateObjectTask" else you won't be able to finish the install at the create user screen.
Yes, my question was whether I should only add entries in HKEY_CURRENT_USER (\Users\Default\ntuser.dat) or if I need to add entries also in HKEY_USERS\.Default (\Windows\System32\config\default). MSMG Toolkit adds entries only in HKEY_CURRENT_USER while NTLite adds in both. So for most cases it should only be added in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER".
Hi well no I simply remove all unecessary things and I'm surprise because normaly I haven't none error strange but maybe MSMG help in some manner and thanks anyway for your help dude
I had to reinstall all aps using Powershell because somehow they were not in my native language when they were a moment before and now the Windows Defender Security Center appears in Start Menu which wasn't supposed to happen since I used this tool to create a ISO without it and it didn't appear before. How can I remove it from the Start Menu?
Hi everyone. II have a question according to language pack integration: Does the all optional feature packs like internet explorer, windows media player and net FX 3 should also be removed with all of the updates like: Security update for adobe flash player and all of the cumulative updates prior to integrating language packs, or only cumulative updates without the optional feature packs described above? I can give to you my featurelist.txt file, and based on its packages you can decide what should I do next. This may happen only if any packages added to image which causes a pending task but in your case it's showing for boot.wim. Did you add any custom winpe package?
Did you integrate any language pack after the installation of OS, if yes then you need to reinstall the apps or wait for the windows update/store to update the language resources for app. Did you integrate any windows update after the installation of OS, if yes then sometimes the CU will try to restore the updated components for removed components and it may partially restore few files and that's why the Defender icon is shown again.
Please do use spoiler for long texts. Removing the integrated packages and installing the language packs will take time, it's better you do integrate the Language Pack and then use the new updates for integration that way it will update easily.
Hi MSMG well after make long search I find issue for some reason ISO file was corrupted so I download again then make job with Toolkit and NO issues and is this O.S. that I'm running now and works like a charm; thanks for your attention
