- Extract the ToolKit to a folder path which doesn't contain a space. - Double click the Start.cmd and choose Yes when asked. - Select the Source. - Remove All Apps or the selected ones. - Remove All Windows Components. - Remove All Advanced Windows Components except Defender and SmartScreen. - Remove the Defender and SmartScreen components. - Integrate the Features. - Cleanup. - Apply. - Rebuild. Try this it will work.
It seems that the Windows Store is broken for many people that used the "Remove all apps except Store" option in MSMG - myself included. I tried adding back some other dependencies that MSMG shouldn't have removed (NetNative Framework 1.4, and Xbox Identity Provider, to name a few), but I still can't get the Store to work. Does anyone have any ideas about what other Appx Packages need to be installed, or anything else I can do to fix it?
Hi MSMG, Congratulations for another great work, everything works perfectly for me, but I do not remove any components, I only integrate the security and comulative updates.
It's a known issues Removing All Apps Except Store for Windows 10 RS3 will break the Store and yet a fix is to be made. The ToolKit uses the DISM to remove the Apps and Packages and it's the DISM which does removes the dependent packages and not ToolKit. The only way is to use manual method I have used to remove certain components where you can retain what you want.
I know that if smatscreen for Store is disable you can't get Store to work or even update. But this is another matter.
Ah, that makes a lot of sense. No problem then, I don't mind removing them manually, so long as I can do it from the .wim or .iso, and not from a live install. When you say manual method, you you mean just typing in each individual letter in MSMG Toolkit? If that still uses DISM, I would think that would cause the same problems. I'll give it a try though. If that's not what you meant, and you had something different in mind, do you have your method listed somewhere? Or can I just delete folders from \Program Files\WindowsApps? I mainly just need to know how to safely remove everything except what is needed to keep the Photos, Calculator, Camera, and Store apps. I actually didn't touch Smartscreen at all, and I even added all of the necessary dependencies for the Store (at least I thought I did, since I don't have a solid list). Having said all that, something else must have broken it.
does using remove package list work completely as intended? I see the code behind some removals -- there's some "logic" involved. some included registry changes.
Well, if I'll have one tile I think I won't to nothing since I want to have no tiles. How can I edit that DefaultLayouts.xml file? I tested the new version and the photos and store apps aren't in my language but in english and they don't open if I click them!
where do we find custom uxtheme patch for win10 actually? also will sfc /scannow or similar reset it?
I already give above some information about Windows 10 edition & LP I using. And I have followed exactly the same steps as MSMG said above, but I have errors. What am I doing wrong??? I disable the anti-virus, the program folder is added to the exceptions.
When I use Start.cmd the console window is initially very small and I need to enlarge the font to see the text. Secondly, I cannot scroll the contents of the console. When I use alt+tab I often cannot go back to it anymore and I need to kill it from the task manager, because nothing else works. I have also tried to integrate DarT 10 to the recovery image and the Toolkit couldn't access something (a few access denied lines were put out) - and yes, I did have the dart pack at the correct path from an archive with correct SHA1.
Can somebody explains me what is Microsoft Xbox Game Callable UI ? I'm affraid to break something by removing this one.
May be for normal work ToolKitHelper to need .NETFramework 4.6.1? I have Kaspersky Anti-Virus installed. Maybe that's why it does not work? Someone check it out for yourself.
The manual method means not using the DISM to remove the components instead removing the component related files/folders, registry settings manually which i have used for PeopleExperienceHost, XboxGameCallableUI, WindowsDefender, SmartScreen. The above said components can't be removed using the DISM for W10 RS3 OS and so I have used the manual method starting from v7.8. The Remove Windows Components using Package was introduced for people who wanted to remove more packages which are not provided in the menu but this can be used to remove to one existing in the Toolkit menu but only some tweaks and settings are not applied. For removing selected apps at once, copy the app names from RemoveAppsList_Template.txt file to RemoveAppsList..txt and choose Remove Apps using Apps List from Remove Apps Menu. For store fix tryout retaining Xbox Identity Provider and see if it works. For Removing components remove all the components you wish under Remove Windows Components Menu and Remove all other Components from Remove Advanced Components and make sure you remove the Windows Defender and SmartScreen at last.
You need to remove corresponding Provisioned App/System entry from the AppxProvisioning.xml or DefaultLayouts.xml file using the Notepad to unpin them from Start Menu.
