no i mean Windows 10 RS3 Arabic (ar-SA) LP only for integrating with windows 10 iso source using ur great script
Ok, I converted the install.esd to .wim and moved it to the sources folder. I used the latest version of W10 from microsoft, downloaded the media creation tool, made an iso from the download. I opened the iso and extracted the contents to the DVD folder. I then mounted the source, removed a bunch of junk apps and components, hit apply, then burned the iso from the menu option to my usb drive after formating it. I booted it up and installed, but it seems all the apps I selected to be removed are installed? I selected to remove things modern apps, but there all still installed. Am I missing something? Anyone have a tutorial or guide how to get this working proerply? I've seen some older versions on youtube with a bunch of unnecessary stuff like dotnet. Is that stuff required?
Yes, I reported about it earlier. Here are some details. OMG this is like the 10th time this is posted. @MSMG I think you need to put this post about the order you must use the functions of the tookit in the first post. Also, since people asking about install.wim not being found happens so often, I think the next version of the toolkit should have a message that says: Install.wim not found. However, an install.esd has been found. Would you like to convert it to install.wim? Y/N? Press ESC to go back. PS, I saw you mentioned you didn't have a powerful enough PC to test these functions. I converted a WIM to an ESD and compressed it back again when I was done using only a dual core Pentium G3268 @ 3.8GHz. It took about 35 and 55 minutes respectively.
If its worth anything... Windows 10 Pro (UK iso from media creation tool) Removed as much as I physically can from the ISO and then installed on my laptop and its working perfectly with no errors or BSOD's what so ever. Thanks MSMG for all the work you have put into making this toolkit!
If you will not use RS3 for sure Toolkit 7.7 is much more mature. There are some services related to the Xbox App that are not removed and some other small problems but nothing that compromises the integrity of the OS and in any way this is a bonus since the removal of the packages via Dism leaves these leftovers.
For USB all I do is make sure it formatted as FAT32 and copy all window installation files directly on USB. For me it always worked for me that way.
There was no Photos and Store App problem for RS2 but since RS3 it's not working. Yes Installing a older version of Photos App works but updating it will again break it. Can't say Removing People App will break the Photos App. Googling about this Issue, it seems many have been complaining about this issue even though they don't use the ToolKit or any other tool and still they haven't got the proper fix yet.
Yes DISM method can remove more or less and WMP has several components like WMP Codecs, WMP Network Sharing Service which are separate packages and needs to be remove separately. I think all issues related to component related will be fixed when each component removal is shifted to use ToolKitHelper method.
The code for pre-RS3 OS's hasn't changed in v7.8 or v7.9 and still use the same code used in v7.7. Only the lines related to Take ownership of files/folder/registry has been removed as it's not necessary when using NSudo. There won't be any difference in using the ToolKit v7.7 or v7.9 for Pre-RS3 OS. If the below components were removed in v7.7 then it should get removed in 7.9 too.
