Which MSMG ToolKit wont have any problems cleaning the components of LTSB 1607? I used the v8.2 and ran /sfc scannow and had errors and could not install a program on the operating system because of a .dll error that didnt exist but was present.
MSMG said that 8.3 will fix bugs and glitches for the 2016 LTSB. May I know what you had removed from LTSB?
ok here you can see my job using Toolkit v8.2 on 2016 LTSB: Removed all default metro apps, removed all Windows Components, Removed all Advanced Windows Components, Removed default metro apps association xml file, apply & save changes to source image, Rebuild source images, Target: Make a DVD ISO image=>W10 2016 LTSB by Tiger-1, my ISO size=2.7GB, open Rufus choose gpt for UEFI BIOS (in my case) put my ISO on it wait process end installed OS as result NO issues still I don't care about sfc/scannow or same event viewer I'm sure my OS works like a charm I never had NONE bsod's or some crash so I hope you can understand Edit: still sometimes only for curious I run @ admin Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth to see some corruption but until now I never see none corruption
There isn't really a option to remove the default metro apps in the Enterprise LTSB. I don't think the LTSB version includes the metro apps. I only seen this option on non-enterprise editon such as the Home/Pro.
^well it's a little hard to explain, but if you try to follow my steps and install it on a VM before installing it on a production machine you can check if it works correctly or not
Loving this tool! used it several times for my 1709 machines and they worked like a charm! Any release date for a 1803 compatible verison?
Stay tuned! It will be out when it is ready, and not before! I have used this with 1803, and RS5 with no issues. Read back a bit to find out how!
so using 8.2 msmg toolkit. noticed so far that people icon is still present after install. but I did tell it to remove during customization and also that none of the remove advanced windows components work. it just loads into a blank readout and doesn't list anything to remove. mainly i want to get rid of defender and edge browser. but i understand that your working on an updated toolkit. just looking forward for the release. keep up the great work.
Is there a way to remove windows defender from a 1803 ISO? I know it is unsupported on the current toolkit but, has anybody got it working somehow?
^^ Hi dude, well depending which version you use try with this command: run gpedit.msc and search there I don't have time to see myself then configure as desired
Tap on the Windows-key to open the Start Menu. Type gpedit.msc and hit enter. Confirm the UAC prompt to continue. You find the setting by following this path: Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender. There you find the policy "Turn off Windows Defender". Double-click on the policy. Set the state of the policy to enabled in the window that opens, and click ok to save the change. That works if your using windows pro or hire. gpedit.msc isn't included in 10 home
The SFC Scan and DISM Image ScanHealth has been fixed only for W10 RS3 Windows Defender, Smartscreen, PeopleExperienceHost and other few components which uses the ToolKitHelper.exe method. May be I think you didn't read the previous posts, Using DISM to component removal sometimes can break the SFC Scan and DISM Image ScanHealth.
Almost all features of the ToolKit has been updated to support W10 RS4, only Convert Editions and Remove Windows Defender, SmartScreen and PeopleExperienceHost component removals needs to be worked out. Will be releasing an update without the above pending things and the rest will be followed in the further versions when its finished. Also the DaRT, Language Packs, Media Feature Pack, .NetFX35 Pack has been updated and also been uploaded.
