Like MSMG said, i don't have any problems with the windows features, i used the Toolkit on Pro and Enterprise ISOs, didn't faced any issues.
I honestly have no idea what's making it disappear. I'm removing all the same things I normally do when I create a build for my machines. It wouldn't be such a big deal, but I usually turn on DirectPlay since I install a few old games that require it.
Didn't MSFT just recently closed the specific Windows section from the company and merged them into another section?
Updated the ToolKit to v8.5 Changelog : v8.5 + Fixed a Bug in the Feature "Remove Windows Component", Where the Windows Defender Component Removal Failed due to an Exception for Windows 10 RS4 Core Editions.
It's possible to remove Windows Update from Windows But I don't know whether the manual installation of update works or not coz I haven't tried it so far.
Hello! Fist of all thank you for your work! In 1709 I had some issues with windows updates after removing windows components, but right after installation I did sfc/scannow, and all errors was fixed, But in 1803 sfc finishing with error. Log file tells about problems with Windows Defender. May this FIX (version 8.5) help me with that?
Same with me. However, I had also removed all the windows components and Cortana, people from the advanced components section. Don't know how to get it back though.
If you remove crucial elements of windows, of course that you'll break something, I removed some components on 1709 and never had any issues...
Hi everyone. First of all, great tool and thread! Still, a FAQ could be useful for this thread. Anyway I've some noobish questions: - Do you use or suggest apps like "Windows Privacy Tracker" or "Disable Win Tracking" after using this? - Do you guys pause windows updates after a clean install? If no, isn't ms install the bloatware again? Thanks.
1- No 2- No, No MSFT will only reinstall all that bloatware if you install a feature update (RS4 to RS5 for example), when i updated from 1709 to 1803, some of the bloatware has been installed again.
Thanks for the answers. I've another question. Is it possible to undo "Integrate > Custom Features". Let's say I applied WMP Metro Skin, can I take the action back?
I don't think so, but hey, don't use these metro skins for now, like @windows builder posted, there's a issue in one of them.
